Now even the RS4 Server core is also released and since the core can be converted to GUI using the client packages, I will be adding the edge pack for RS4 too. If you need it urgently then use the Aunty Mel's Cheap And Nasty SxS File Expander to extract the packages.
If you are integrating features like Dart or any updates to the Windows Setup Boot Image, then Choose Yes to mount it and the same applies for the Recovery Image too.
May be some WMP sub-packages are breaking the microphone in RS4 while for RS3 it was working properly.
There's nothing wrong with the ToolKit's Apps removal process, You need to read back the past posts/pages to know why the Xbox Live(Microsoft.Xbox.TCUI) is retained. The Xbox Live(Microsoft.Xbox.TCUI) is required for the functioning of Store App Reset/Fix in the Settings->Apps->Apps and features. But when the ToolKitHelper method is used it is not required and at present the ToolKitHelper is not yet updated for removal of Xbox. The NTLite uses the manual method or it's own removal engine to remove the package by - Reading the Package Info - Creating a List of files/folder to be removed/modified - Creating a List of Registry changes to be made - Creating a List of files/folder/registry to be retained for component protection - Removing the component based upon the list - Cleanup the image
No offense to your job sir. I just want to get info and share the info I had. I'm not very familiar with all those iso tweaking and windows components terms. Thanks for the reply.
Can someone please check or confirm (tried with 8.5 and 8.6): - Removing Telemetry (4 - 3 - 2 - L) breaks Sticky Notes. It appears as installed but just opens for a split second in taskbar and then disappears again. Background Info: - Tested with Pro and Pro WS. - Integrated 17134.5 Update manually - Removing all Metro Apps exept Store (with Package List) - Removing "All Windows Components" (4 - 3 - 1) - Removing Edge and Hyper-V (4 - 3 - 2 - B/C) - Removing "Windows People Experience Host" and "Windows SmartScreen" (4 - 3 - 2 - N/O) - Some Tweaks in 5 - 5 Install Image in VBox and install Sticky Notes via Store -> works - Removing Telemetry -> Sticky Notes won't work. Testen on Notebook with 16299.xxx installed and did an inplace Upgrade. Sticky Notes appears as installed but on click nothing happens (appears and disapperas immediately). Tried to remove and reinstall via Power Shell and Store...same result. Won't open. Don't remove it in MSMG -> same result. Appears as installed but won't open. I even tested saving the progress after integration the update. Same result. In the process I also tested the same with calculator, which does always work. With and without telemetry, calculator can always be installed via Store and then opens correct.
why do people remove hyper-v I know it's of no use by most people as there is virtualbox and vmware which are better but how much size this package have anyways, if it frees up some space it maybe useful to get rid of it and i have toolkit v8.4 now can I use just v8.6 Smart Version Patch to update it ? thanks
I checked with a proper install: microphone is still broken with Windows Media Player AND Cortana+Search added back in. VM isn't a sufficient test for this bug. Is everyone else with the missing microphone support using Realtek on-board audio?
Actually I think those programs are cumbersome to use, and take a lot of RAM. Hyper-V is much quicker to install an OS, and to test in my opinion.
Yeahhh f@@@ck sticky notes force close here too (telemetry eliminated, toolkit 8.5, win 10 x64 pro, home Spanish language consumer editions) It seems that it also breaks the drivers update via windows update. Someone can confirm this?. Thanks a ton.
This was the second time I was replying to the same query yesterday and when I copied the text from my previous reply I didn't edited it properly, So no offense to you too.
