Hi MSMG, Can you confirm that using Toolkit 8.8 allow removal of Windows Defender and Telemetry for RS4 (1803) Enterprise, without breaking MS Update as 8.7 did when Telemetry removed.
There are no issues with removing Windows Defender, But Removing Asimov sub-component under the Microsoft Telemetry component will break the Sticky Notes and the ability to install drivers through Windows update, however installing updates through Windows update is not affected.
hello, thanks for marvelous software.. need to know, how to update software using SVF file... thank for helping
msmg: i remember long ago if we remove some xbox components, store wont work.... so.... which xbox components can i remove... such that store can still work?
The Microsoft.Xbox.TCUI appx is retained for Store compatibility and so it is removed only with Store. You can also further retain Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider appx for Store functioning.
Same to me. Can't update 1803 from windows update after i modified w10 image with MSMG. Anyone have any solution? I've tried to install firstly SSU then CU through W10UI (on installed system) and it doesn't help. What i've done with my w10 image: 1.Integrated Drivers (Video, Audio etc.) All drivers are working, i don't think it related 2.Apply image 3.Integrated SSU, CU, Flash and intel cpu microcode patch (Spectre, Meltdown) through W10UI (didn't enable netfx35) 4.Removed all Metro app (except Windows Store, XBox) 5.Removed components (except Edge, Cortana, IE etc) (didn't remove WMP) 6.Applied some tweaks 7.Manually ResetBase WinPE images (boot.wim, winre.wim) from mounted folders 8.Manually StartComponentCleanup install.wim I didn't integrate NetFX35, I've enable it from installed system 9.Removed Defender, PeopleExperienceHost, SmartScreen (don't removed Telemetry due to Asimov bug) 10.Applied image 11.Rebuild image 12.Created ISO What's wrong? Should I create the new image with MSMG? So I must to do so every new update? I want to update my system from windows update Tell me the right way
First of all my big thanks to MSMG for all his continuous great work and efforts on this project! Actually I ran into the same situation while installing the German language pack and fixed it in a way that worked for me: The trick I applied was to not simply rename the file, but to make a copy and rename the copy so it matched the missing file. This way I had both files. After doing so the language pack integration worked without any errors. There was one other thing I noticed. Upon installing DaRt, I had to integrate its German language pack myself by extracting the files and copying them to the folders thy belong. This is a step that I had to do for both boot.wim and recovery.wim. I'm not sure if this step would have been necessary if I had integrated DaRt before integrating the LP, but I wanted to stick to the order mentioned in the Readme.
[CASE SOLVED] Integrate Windows Setup Media Updates using [Integrate->Windows Updates->Windows Setup Media Updates] menu. Thanks for advice MSMG...
I have found Dism's resetbase causes windows updates to try to reinstall over and over again. Try without doing that.
