8.8 works great for 1803 (and earlier) 9.0 has been updated for 1809 but due to all of the changes in 1809 the MSMG Toolkit is missing some functionality that will be addressed in later builds. If you want everything to be perfect in general you should stay away for 1809 for maybe 1 or 2 more months.
The next build will probably be close by then. I wish there were more options to disable things, that's much simpler to add.
Honestly that is fine with me. Between the changes MS made and the problems with the tools it is causing I plan to sit 1809 out at least on systems I care about. I will start more serious testing of 1809 when the next toolkit comes out but for now 1803 is perfectly stable.
Thanks for the answer, but I solved the question by replacing the dll, another question arose: how to install esd or wim, on the live OS, after using your tool? For example, I have win 10 rs1 and I want to upgrade to rs4, but I want to avoid components win10 rs4, metro apps and the rest. I would like a solution via cmd or powershell
next release will be about June of 2019. but thats only it's anticipated release timeframe. remember 1809 was released officially for good beginning of November. not October like promised. all the bugs
Forgive my bad English, because I am writing via Google translator. The procedure for working with the program I took from the instructions from its author. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/msmg-toolkit.50572/page-447#post-1489323 I will try to do as you wrote.
Padre_Pedro, thank you so much for the advice. Everything worked. Here is the 1809 RS5 image preparation workflow: Source-> Select Source from Source <DVD> Folder Integrate all necessary Windows features (with the exception of Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5) I do not advise including in the image of MS DART and DirectX 9 Integrate all necessary updates. When integrating updates, use Integrate to Windows Setup Install & Recovery Image. Attention!!! Updates must have original names. Renaming updates will make it impossible to integrate them into an image. Apply-> Cleanup Source Images Remove all necessary Windows components You can delete all System Apps. In the Advanced Windows Components menu, it’s not advisable to remove InternetExplorer and WindowsMediaPlayer. Apply-> Cleanup Source Images Customize the image using the Customize menu Apply-> Apply & Save Changes to Source Images Apply-> Re-Build Source Images Target-> Make a DVD ISO Image
You can do in-place upgrade with the customized image but make sure you have integrated the necessary updates.
You can safely integrate the DaRT and DirectX9.0c without any issues. The updates should be integrated after the component removal since the component removal has been coded based upon the original image and so the updates component files/registry aren't removed if the updates are integrated before. I think Only the IE is causing the default App setting bug.
I probably removed too much things when I was creating my own ISO using this tool. I just realized that my system is missing MS Paint and PhotoViewer.dll, and also I cannot install Directx 9. Is there any option to restore these things? Without re-installing the OS of course, because I already installed many programs and copied files.
integrate the updates after the component removal causes a system error when installing windows (Pro 1809, Home 1809, LTSC 1809). so I install the updates first, then delete the components. it works
