would be nice am new and i want to work on 1903 as soon as they release new msmgtoolkit build as msmg said release in 2-3 days that should be anytime now.
Oh really? damn, I would have waited until then if I'd seen that! I just got done finishing setting my system up. Good thing I just run everything non-OS related from a secondary drive and link the docs/pics/etc libraries over there so it's not that much of a hassle.
Yes only Windows Apps can be removed using v9.3.2 for v1903 and right now it doesn't break any functionality. Copying directly or extracting from DVD drive or ISO Image will do, The Toolkit will use the .NET Fx35 files from sxs folder. Do you need a better guide than the one given in README.txt Code: Windows 10 RS5/19H1/Server 2019/Server v1809/v1903 Usage Order: ============================================================== [A] - Select the Source Images using [Source->Select Source from Source <DVD> Folder] menu. - <Optional> If also required to Service Source Boot/Recovery Images then Choose Yes when asked to mount. Note: The Toolkit requires a Windows Installation Image to be in a .wim format for servicing. [B] - <Optional> Integrate the Windows Language Packs (Language Packs + Language Features Packs + Winpe Language Packs) using [Integrate->Windows Language Packs] menu. Note: You need to download the Windows Language Packs for MSMG ToolKit which contains the required files (win-lp+lfp+winpe-lp). Copy the Windows Language Pack files to <Packs\LangPacks\w10\<Architecture>\<LanguageCode>> E.g: <Packs\LangPacks\w10\x64\en-GB>. Windows Language Packs for MSMG ToolKit is uploaded only on request basis due to low upload speed here. [C] - <Optional> Integrate the Windows Drivers using [Integrate->Windows Drivers] menu. Note: Copy the Driver files/folder to <Drivers\w10\<Architecture>> folder. [D] - Integrate all required Windows Features (Except Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5) using [Integrate->Windows Features] menu. Note: Some Packs for MSMG ToolKit are not included within the ToolKit Archive due to it's size and instead they are provided separately. You need to download the required packs and extract them to the Packs folder as specified below. Dart_W10.7z (Extract the folder DaRT inside the Archive to Packs folder, so that it should be like <Packs\DaRT\w10). Games.7z (Extract the folder Games inside the Archive to Packs folder, so that it should be like <Packs\Games). MediaFeaturePack_W10.7z (Extract the folder MediaFeaturePack inside the Archive to Packs folder, so that it should be like <Packs\MediaFeaturePack). NetFX35_W10_RS5.7z (Extract the folder NetFX35 inside the Archive to Packs folder, so that it should be like <Packs\NetFX35). NetFX35_W10_19H1.7z (Extract the folder NetFX35 inside the Archive to Packs folder, so that it should be like <Packs\NetFX35). [E] - Cleanup the Source Image using [Apply->Cleanup Source Images] menu. (Only if not integrating Windows Updates, do the cleanup image else not required). [F] - Remove all required Windows Components using [Remove->Remove Windows Components] menu. Note: Remove the components in the order Windows Apps -> System Apps -> Advanced Windows Components. [G] - Integrate Windows Updates/WHD Update Pack using [Integrate->Windows Updates->Windows Updates/WHD Update Packs] menu. The ToolKit supports updates either in .msu/.cab format. For Windows Updates Integration you need to copy the updates to <Updates\w10\<Architecture>> folder (E.g. <Packs\Updates\w10\x64>). For WHD Update Pack Integration you need to copy the WHD Updates Packs files for Windows 10 <Packs\WHD\w10\<Architecture> folder according to the category. Copy Windows Cumulative Update file to <Packs\WHD\w10\<Architecture>\Cumulative> folder (E.g. <Packs\WHD\w10\x64\Cumulative>). Copy Windows Dynamic Update files to <Packs\WHD\w10\<Architecture>\Dynamic> folder (E.g. <Packs\WHD\w10\x64\Dynamic>). Copy Windows FlashPlayer Update file to <Packs\WHD\w10\<Architecture>\FlashPlayer> folder (E.g. <Packs\WHD\w10\x64\FlashPlayer>). Copy Windows .Net Cumulative Update file to <Packs\WHD\w10\<Architecture>\NetCumulative> folder (E.g. <Packs\WHD\w10\x64\NetCumulative>). Copy Windows WinPE Update files to <Packs\WHD\w10\<Architecture>\WinPE> folder (E.g. <Packs\WHD\w10\x64\WinPE>). [H] - <Optional> Integrate Windows Setup Media Updates using [Integrate->Windows Updates->Windows Setup Media Updates] menu. [I] - <Optional> Integrate all required Windows Custom Features using [Integrate->Windows Custom Features] menu. [J] - <Optional> Customize the Image using [Customize] menu. [K] - Cleanup the Source Image using [Apply->Cleanup Source Images] menu. [L] - Integrate Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Feature using [Integrate->Windows Features->Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5) menu. [M] - Apply & Save Changes to Source Images using [Apply->Apply & Save Changes to Source Images] menu. [N] - Re-Build Source Images using [Apply->Re-Build Source Images] menu.
You removed the Microsoft-Windows-Management-SecureAssessment-Package using the DISM Method isn't it? may be that's why it's giving issues and nowadays the recent CU's are all having issues with one or the other files.
The cabs for .NETFX3.5 are in the ISO under \sources\sxs. You can actually get away with not integrating this, and instead use this registry command Code: reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework" /v "OnlyUseLatestCLR" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f I haven't used .NETFX3.5 in ages, and have never had a problem. I use the registry edit.
yep, used the RemovePkgsList to remove it. Took forever to figure out what broke the CU :'( Cheers /LR
hi there, I can't wate for the latest and greatest msmg toolkit version! could an option be added to completely remove the windows update functionality? incase say i wanted to upgrade windows to the next msmged release manually? what with the tizzy that happens currently with windows updates adding back removed features? is there an archive of old releases that can be downloaded? easily? tryed downloading the hole msmg folder encluding packs etc, but mega sed nope 64% thrue? thanks for msmg, msmg! Majid
So far I have tested the Toolkit with only x86 images, found an issue with a shared component and fixing them, still need to test the x64 images. Yes you can remove the Windows Update and to upgrade to next windows version you can use an offline image prepared with the Toolkit. Don't download the packs now as the new version uses a different pack structure and will be available with the next release.
@MSMG did you manage to fix Photoshop's cloud installer issue that happens if Internet explorer gets removed?
Not yet, need to find out whether the Photoshop's cloud installer is using the Trident (MSHTML) engine or the WebView control. The next release allows you to remove the Edge's Win32WebViewClient, do remove it and test the adobe Installer, if it works then the adobe is using the Trident (MSHTML) engine for its UI display.
MSMG - add please "Integrate Windows Language Packs Menu": 4. Integrate to Windows Setup Boot, Install & Recovery Image
