@MSMG and others: I've now deployed the LTSC x64 image made with the Toolkit 9.4.1. There were no issues with the cleanup option in te Toolkit. The only issue encountered was with the net native runtimes and net native framework, I had included only the latest versions 2.2 downloaded from the adguard site. Store and any modern app integrated in LTSC did not work. Then I peaked at the Store files from GodHand's optimize script. He included version 2.1 of the aforementioned runtimes. But looking at the Toolkit code, I see that MSMG hasn't listed 2.1 in the dependency path. So at this point, I don't think it's worth including 2.1 in the apps folder. I will continue to use 1.6 and 1.7 version of the mentioned runtimes. Above issue was easily resolved by using the Store script from abbodi after deployment, all was working. There were no other issues, SFC comes up clean, windows update working fine (I did remove unified telemetry client). As said no issues with cleanup, all working perfectly. Will build a new image to resolve the modern app dependencies. So far, I'm happy with the results. Cheers.
I used the latest version of stock run-times present in the v1809 image and used the latest version of DesktopAppInstaller, Store and Xbox but when I installed the OS and launched the Store, the Store didn't launch. May be it requires further testing to fix what's missing.
I didn't know that I could remove components with packagelist by category so I tried it for the fun of it. It took me only 5 1/2 minutes to remove all components except IE (which is 94 components) from 1903.30 x64 en us. Thats pretty fast Msmg. Thx. Btw it would have taken me over an hour one by one.
hmmm So when I: Mount >> Y for boot >> Y for Recovery Then 4 >> 3 for remove packages via list Code: ToolKitHelper:3DViewer ToolKitHelper:AADBrokerPlugin ToolKitHelper:AdobeFlashForWindows ToolKitHelper:AdvertisingXaml ToolKitHelper:Alarms ToolKitHelper:AssignedAccess ToolKitHelper:AssignedAccessLockApp ToolKitHelper:BingWeather ToolKitHelper:BioEnrollment ToolKitHelper:Calculator ToolKitHelper:Camera ToolKitHelper:CBSPreview ToolKitHelper:CEIP_SQM ToolKitHelper:CommunicationsApps ToolKitHelper:ContentDeliveryManager ToolKitHelper:Cortana ToolKitHelper:DesktopAppInstaller ToolKitHelper:DeviceLockdown ToolKitHelper:EaseOfAccessThemes ToolKitHelper:ECApp ToolKitHelper:Edge ToolKitHelper:EdgeDevToolsClient ToolKitHelper:FaceRecognition ToolKitHelper:FeedbackHub ToolKitHelper:FileExplorer ToolKitHelper:FirstLogonAnimation ToolKitHelper:GameExplorer ToolKitHelper:GetHelp ToolKitHelper:Getstarted ToolKitHelper:HEIFImageExtension ToolKitHelper:HomeGroup ToolKitHelper:InternetExplorer ToolKitHelper:KernelDebugging ToolKitHelper:LockApp ToolKitHelper:MapControl ToolKitHelper:Maps ToolKitHelper:Messaging ToolKitHelper:MixedRealityPortal ToolKitHelper:NarratorQuickStart ToolKitHelper:OfficeHub ToolKitHelper:OfficeOneNote ToolKitHelper:OneConnect ToolKitHelper:OneDrive ToolKitHelper:Paint ToolKitHelper:Paint3D ToolKitHelper:ParentalControls ToolKitHelper:People ToolKitHelper:PeopleExperienceHost ToolKitHelper:Photos ToolKitHelper:PicturePassword ToolKitHelper:PinEnrollment ToolKitHelper:PPIProjection ToolKitHelper:Print3D ToolKitHelper:QuickAssist ToolKitHelper:RemoteAssistance ToolKitHelper:RetailDemoContent ToolKitHelper:ScreenSketch ToolKitHelper:SecureAssessmentBrowser ToolKitHelper:SecurityCenter ToolKitHelper:SettingSync ToolKitHelper:SkypeApp ToolKitHelper:SkypeORTC ToolKitHelper:SmartScreen ToolKitHelper:SnippingTool ToolKitHelper:SolitaireCollection ToolKitHelper:SoundRecorder ToolKitHelper:SpeechRecognition ToolKitHelper:StickyNotes ToolKitHelper:SystemRestore ToolKitHelper:UnifiedTelemetryClient ToolKitHelper:VP9VideoExtensions ToolKitHelper:WalletService ToolKitHelper:WebMediaExtensions ToolKitHelper:WebpImageExtensions ToolKitHelper:WiFiNetworkManager ToolKitHelper:Win32WebViewHost ToolKitHelper:WindowsDefender ToolKitHelper:WindowsErrorReporting ToolKitHelper:WindowsInsiderHub ToolKitHelper:WindowsMediaPlayer ToolKitHelper:WindowsMixedReality ToolKitHelper:WindowsPhotoViewer ToolKitHelper:WindowsReaderPDF ToolKitHelper:WindowsSubsystemForLinux ToolKitHelper:WindowsToGo ToolKitHelper:WinSAT ToolKitHelper:XboxApp ToolKitHelper:XboxGameCallableUI ToolKitHelper:XboxIdentityProvider ToolKitHelper:YourPhone ToolKitHelper:ZuneMusic ToolKitHelper:ZuneVideo Then 6 >> 1 Cleanup source Then 3 >> 3 >> L to integrate direct x9.0 Then 3 >> 4 >> 2 >> 1 >> 4 to integrate WHD updates (Windows10.0-KB4515530-x64, Windows10.0-KB4511555-x64,Windows10.0-KB4512941-x64) Then 5 >> 3 to remove default apps xml Then 5 >> 6 >> H & I to add tweaks Then 6 >> 1 Cleanup source Then 6 >> 2 Apply and Save changes Then 7 >> 1 to DVD image But when i try to install the image on Virtual Box, it cannot find the drive even though it shows when browsing, However if i don't integrate any updates then it works fine and installs properly. I've tried several times but always same issue when integrating updates.
google, wushowhide.diagcab and Windows Update Blocker v1.5 Use at your own risk. HOW: 1.Disable updates with Windows Update Blocker v1.5, to stop auto updates. 2.Enable updates WITH Windows Update Blocker v1.5, DON'T SEARCH FOR ANY UPDATES, Now open wushowhide.diagcab to search for updates, then block all the updates you don't need. Works for me.
Check my post I have checked SFC again after Installing the updates, the SFC comes clean. Will check with integrating updates to image today.
Yes it's due to code protection added to ToolKitHelper.exe it takes more time to process and this increase the overall time when the ToolKitHelper.exe is called more than once. But when the component category name is used the processing is done only once and so it takes less time to remove the components.
im going back to rs5 Windows10.0-KB4514358-x64.msu Windows10.0-KB4486153-x64.msu both these seem related to .net, to which dirs do these whd files go to?
I need to block the cumulative update when modifying the image in the toolkit, and not after installing the system.
.NET Framework 3.5-4.8 packages can also integrate using this folder ( WHD/w10/x64/NetCumulative ). I use this method for some time - and it works! This allows clean the image without error and slightly reduces the install.wim file size. Spoiler
the new version does not work remove with last windows download ver from MS web: =============================================================================== MSMG ToolKit - Remove Windows Components =============================================================================== ToolKit component removal only work with the below Source OS Images... Windows 10 v1903 (10.0.18362.1 and 10.0.18362.30) Source OS. =============================================================================== Press any key to continue . . .
That's exactly what the MSMG message says, it only works with the mentioned builds, not with the august refresh iso's.
