I've read the same before. If I understand right, .NET 5 is a deeply reworked .NET, mostly for developers. .NET 4.8 is still the last version for the OS to support those programs that need it. Please, correct me, if I'm wrong.
If it's gonna contain the 4.8 runtimes required by software, then yes, it will replace 4.8. Otherwise 4.x and 5 is gonna be just like 3.5 and 4.x.
Since .NET5 there won't be .NET Framework any more, because Framework & CORE - they are joined together now. The question is which one bundle should install end user to have a necessary support for OS Windows (moreover, .NET5 now is multiplatform thing). Because I don't want install a full bundle for developers, but need .NET5 support only.
OK, what are we saying here? That the removal of Cortana from the image using the toolkit doesn't work so these additional tools are needed to successfully remove Cortana? As you can see from the attached, Speech recognition and Cortana was removed. I didn't apply the "Disable Cortana" tweak as @MSMG said it's not needed if Cortana is removed.
I will say, using the Toolkit 11.2 and a fresh 20H2 image has actually solved my problems, as well as trying to keep the folders a little more cohesive on my C:\ drive and keeping sufficient space! (LORD space is a savior). However, I'm still getting nothing in the ISO folder after applying the tweaks to actually burn the image once it's actually made. After removing everything I was looking to actually remove in the first place, and applying the tweaks, I had followed previous instructions for going to the "Target" option to Make a DVD ISO image, but nothing is ever in the ISO folder. Am I missing a step?
I have a different approach to this kind of thing. (And everything is fine for me in this case). I apply all possible methods to prevent undesirable things from happening. Basically, these are the three main parts that complement each other (you know them well): 1. Removing 2. GPO (The most important part) 3. Tweaks (Registry prefs, Services and everything else) After all, do the bricks stand on top of each other by themselves? Yes. So why do we use cement to build a wall? The same way, the "Store" is likely "not existing" in LTSC. In fact, that's not true, base elements are existing, but not fully functional. So M$ know their default base config and may provide any changes through CU or remote patches (when not restricted). Your task is making this completely impossible (using standard restrictions or/and non-standard methods). If WU still functional in your OS, then your hacks are OK. Since Cortana and Search are closely related in LTSC, I kill both using all available methods.
Looking for some help I am trying to integrate these update and for some reason I can not get this one to Integrate KB4598291 Starting with Windows version 10.0.19042.631 KB4586858 Integrates KB4598291 Does not Integrate (The old KB4598242 Integrated just fine on the last ISO I made.) KB4598299 Integrates KB4598481 Integrates Any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong? Thanks Dean
