Keep me posted. This project cant modify your bios slic version so it wasn't this project that did it. You said it was before, win 7 ult oem activated? How can that be when you have slic 2.0 in your bios? That is for Vista only, not win 7. Do you know if it used a loader possibly for win 7 to be oem activated? If so then if you only wiped drive c then the system partition with loader would still be there thus why it might be showing slic 2.1. Something smells fishy...
Just looked at specs of that machine and it did come with Vista Home Premium so for it to say it was oem activated with win 7 is only possible if using windows loader. This case is closed now. lol Would be nice if I could find a way of telling if windows loader is being used and report that in query tool but not sure how to do it or even if it is possible. Will have to do some research.
Working on query tool output to show if windows loader is present thus it will show slic as Un-Listed [Loader Present]. This would make life easier. Work in progress... Update: Waiting on Daz to reply to my pm...I have some questions.
Thank you but I have it installed in VMware but cant find a way of determining if installed or not through bcdedit. I will wait until I hear from Daz. He knows his tool better then anyone.
No slic for win 8.x plus that one is easy to find in anyones system if installed. The loader on the other hand is a pain to determine if installed and what type. This detects all loaders used with slic emulation. Any end user can easily find those files for kms, if installed so not going to bother with that one. Plus some use portable so no traces left behind to look for.
KMS activation has nothing to do with BIOS or UEFI, so if a Windows is activated using a KMS emulator or a real KMS client none of its components (KMS) affects the output of Query Tool.
First post updated with new query tool that detects loader if present in Vista/Win7, thanks to Alphawaves. I don't know about the rest of you but I think Alphawaves deserves MDL Developer Of The Year Award. Seriously, this person you don't have to ask for help...he is already on it and sends you a new tool. You don't find many ppl in this world like that. From me to you, Alphawaves, thank you.
i updated bios with silc 2.1 that i found on MDL and win-7 activated and running well yes i was come with windows vista then installed win-7 but i don't remember how it was activated ? maybe activated by loader or some other activator thanks to all of you for help and support
I don't deserve it. What I do is just simple command line scripting, nothing special. Unlike Alphawaves, who is a very talented programmer.
First post updated (query tool only) to include some suggestions. These are minor changes that only effect the query tool v7.0 build 6. Note: Me and Alphawaves are working on a another method for slic version confusion plus making Daz happy. Stay tuned... Sorry about all the updates to the query tool but this needs to be addressed.
Do make the support list nice @ The Guardian I am in disagreement over scripting n such. At this point scripting is basically an equal to programming. Scripting is the open variant to programming because they balance each other out. You have seen the kind of scripting I do so basically that means scripting is the most undervalued thing out there at the moment. You have been very commited to this project more so than I have as the time I have had available has dwindled. Feel free to take the scripting from the pack you have and tinker around with it as my concern was just getting vista working with it. I would encourage you to look at Powershell more though
