Location 10 I used at odd MSI, too. That was the birth of SSv2 by the way. We had problems at MSI core7. Zhaoliang (inventor of SSv2) suggested to write the SLIC into the bios itself, not creating a extra module therefore. He used address 00, I used 10! That time there were much more core7 AMI bioses. Our problem was, and that was the reason why there were almost no successfully mods, that the odd tools crashed when we've tried to replace the acpi 0F module....so lha ssv2 seems to be the perfect combination.
Hello Andyp It is a time ago i wrote my last post in the forum. I saw the new 2.1 mod i can use in your tool. My question is: Is the 2.1 mod only for W7 or can i use it too for Vista ? If i can use 2.1 for Vista which serial and certs i have to use for Home Premium 64bit if i add HP 2.1 Slic. Tnx
I almost used LHA for all compressing at one point, but LHA 2.55 which gives virtually identical output to MMTool/MMTool2, doesn't work on XP64 - which is zort's main PC. LHA 2.67 does work, but the output is always different (even with the -o2 -h1 switch to make it do -lh5- method). Andy
Thanks for the feedback!! Basically the tool builds an array of all modules, ROM holes, NVRAM, BB, EBB, any other used area etc.... then scans the remainder for a suitably sized block of FFh below the AMIBIOSC header. The first one it finds, it puts the SLIC. In core 8 it, by default, at avoids the first 40000h - as I belive there are some cases where this can be overwritten, but this appears not to be the case in core 7. Andy
yep, i couldn't insert slp into my msi either but i don't mind as slic is what i wanted, its because there is just no available space to put it
You could try and insert it after with dmicfg or the tattoo disk...AcerSystem is valid in some of the DMI..as is Travelmate..
as i said in my pm strange thing 911... with a asrock bios for me im having version 1.22 say not enough room and i tried all the slic's available with ssv3 and ssv2. but with version 1.23 the tool runs fine and with normal ssv3 method is working fine?? what could the difference be??
Hi Try v1.24. Fixed core7 SSV2 SLP bug - well, not really a bug, I forgot to write the code for that! Let me know if it works! Andy
