Last night I downloaded the new build at home where the Internet is fast. I found the folder with the long numeric name in windows\softwaredistribution\download and saw it contained the three files. I copied that whole folder to removable media and carried it to work this morning where the Internet is dog-slow. Copied it to the exact same place I found it, on my work machines running the Preview, checked for new build and instantly it was ready to install. Hope this helps someone.
My updated install got a little weird on me so I did a clean install. Much better. The update install left me with fuzzy fonts and broken text, IE wouldn't render pages correctly, programs very slow to start, and boot time was ridiculous. Clean install has none of those problems.
Could it be you used option 4 in abbodis script ? Interestingly that option doesn't create an ei.cfg file, which is needed to perform an upgrade from the ISO. ei.cfg for Professional should look: Code: [EditionID] Professional [Channel] Retail [VL] 0
Tried it out, still fails at around the 50-60% mark. Good try though. After waiting for the download to end, upgrade via PC settings also fails now. "Failed to install the new preview build, please try again later. 0x8024200D"
to my knowledge some wifi stuff currently is affected by development and so far is not 100% functional. Guess it is only temporary
You are correct. There is the file downloaded and the total file size displayed close to each other on the PowerShell, which, you have to refresh to see the next downloaded file size.
