THE SAD REALITY(as of now): Advanced Windows users may be able to appreciate the changes and features Microsoft brought in Windows 8 (Hyper-V, Windows To Go, VHD Mounting, Refresh/Reset, Creation of System Image etc), but general users would not. I have seen the blank look on the faces of people when I first showed them WDP... At that time, I thought maybe in the Beta, Microsoft would at least give us an option to choose between the two UIs, but alas, this is not the case. Just a simple example of Microsoft stupidity: On WDP, here is how I connect to my internet - 1) I click on the AERO network icon present in the notification area 2) An ugly green METRO panel like thing comes in from the right. I then click on the METRO connect button. 3) An AERO dialog box opens up. I then enter my DSL username and password and finally connect to the internet. So, the whole process goes like this: AERO -> METRO -> AERO! .... DISGUSTING! There is no change whatsoever on the desktop side... Ribbon is nice and welcome. But charm bar? Seriously, can the charm bar ever replace the Start menu? I don't think so! The whole desktop experience is carried as it is from Windows 7. No color changes, no new set of icons, nothing! They don't even care to replace the silver/grey aurora from Windows 7: I'm bigtime disappointed with Windows 8!
the x64 guy, he can send me the ISO.....if I can get him a job in MS (or other big OEM's) in Hong Kong with H.K. citizenship.
What's so special in that theme pack?! Bright and ugly red flowers? Sucks! Who would want to have them as their desktop background!
The new build is so great!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope it will leak soon... And it CAN be true that the Consumer Preview will be released at February, 14, because the Developer Preview has also been released on a patchday...
Canouna, are there are Windows Live apps in the Windows Store like a new version of Windows Live Messenger/Mail/Movie Maker etc. Or is there at least a Mail app available?
