Canouna, has the boot screen changed? Is it just the WDP one with new text? Or is it completely different?

 

It should have already changed, because Canouna said the beta is ready

 

someone knows something about the new Media Player / Music Player with CP version? have any screenshots, facts?thx

 

As far as i know, there's WMP12 included. New Metro player is available thru store.

Has anyone had problems with wzor site lately? I use to be able to go to the home page and a log in would come up, it doesnt anymore. I never could access the forums there because its invite only but I couldve swore there was more to the site than just forums

I remember a few months ago I installed some sort of overlay on W7 and explorer looks almost the same, fake

Not sure about that. It seems to me that Microsoft is focused on the new Metro world. Desktop and desktop apps are only there to make Windows 7 users happy. Nothing more. They didn't even changed Windows Media Center! It's also about costs and money. They now have to do more, Metro AND desktop apps, Windows Phone and Windows on ARM.

I really doubt that they will change the UI a lot after beta. They have already fine-tuned the current Aero theme since WDP:
- the reflections on the Taskbar buttons and the "Show Desktop" button are now softer and blurry
- Taskbar buttons don't have rounded corners anymore
- Back and Forward buttons in Explorer are separate now and differently positioned
- Title bar text is not always on the right side of Contextual Tabs in Explorer
- drop shadow of active window is now smaller

Yeah. But I would be happy to be wrong and see some last changed after beta

 

Eitherway, custom themes will be there again, but i guess ppl will try to use the Basic one instead (it doesnt have the Blur bug per default i hope, if you played around with theming on W7 you know what i mean) to make proper borderless Frames that don't get screwed again
