Thats true......but, Cortana also has a live tile, don't forget that & no such app was shown in the screenshot, guess we will know soon....when the preview gets released.
That 'Remind me' feature is more or less like the Alarm in Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. That is far from being Cortana looking how it is in Windows phone.
All this speculation about this, that, and the other thing, is like finding the sex of a child before it is born, no fun IMO. Wait until the baby pops out, be glad for what you get as long as all the parts are there and in working order, and never name a child until you see it. When I see the next version of Windows I'll decide on its name depending on how it looks/works. Maybe Windows Workx, maybe Windows Sux.
That's why I said "Cortana Specific" & Cortana does have this type of feature in Windows Phone, if it was simply an alarm app...why would they change the name into something like that? It must do something more maybe? it might be there as a pre-Cortana preview..so that they could show some of these reminder features (without showing Cortana)& improve it's functionality with user feedback..so that Cortana works nearly perfect when Windows 9 beta is launched.Just like the taskbar user tile was there in pre-Dev preview Win8 builds...just to test the user tile of the start screen (Without actually showing any part of the new Start Screen UI).The Start Screen was a special feature of Windows 8 & they didn't want to show/let people use it until it was properly ready....the same case might be for Cortana. LOL
Well, if we are to go by 'Cortana specific' the icon on the 'Remind Me' seems to look like notification kind of thing that differentiates it from what we known about Cortana in Windows Phone. It is a voice feature that allows you to place a call, send message and do other things which would have required manual interactions. I am suggesting it to function like the alarm not necessarily means it is the alarm in Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. Microsoft changing the name should be out of the question because that Remind Me has a notification icon and could be just the feedback reminder of messages received and sent by Microsoft feedback team to have better idea of what changes have been made to the Windows 9.There is good idea it could serve as a feature to improve the functionality of Cortana through feedback until the beta is launched. It could also be something else despite it is named Remind Me.
Did anyone else notice the very subtle but huge drop shadows beneath the windows? I like it, it makes overlapping windows less cluttered while still maintaining the clean look. Glad to see they've started replacing the Vista-icons. I think they started already with Windows 8 development but scrapped it. I remember finding some flat icons in .dll files that were never used.
Might be....screenshots are usually released some days/weeks before a build actually leaks....we will know in the next few days
