I don't think anybody is trying to put somebody down here. It is right to do the needful at times to let the public know about what they are reading. There is nothing right about being impostor rather than posting wrong information about Windows 9. There is difference between the two of them, the wrong information and claiming to be who you are not. The latter is the issue here though. Try to understand what the bone of contention is all about here.
Seems that list only show the base version of the RTM, open CMD(Admin)-> enter : DISM /? Then you'll see it reports 9600.17031 ; dispite whatever builod no. shown in the abstract layer in msinfo (i.e. build no. converted by QFE hotfixes).
I think so. The one on the 'thecollectionbook' list and DISM point to the same version(6.3.9600.17031). I would rather go with the hardware abstract layer being what provides programs direct access to hardware resources through standard OS(perhaps why Microsoft so much reminded us to do the update 1). While DISM is a tool used to service Windows images based on the particular ISO(it is only going to address that ISO version than the update). Whether it is being converted by hotfixes the abstract layer is able to present us with the latest update 1(6.3.9600.17196) that is made up of patches as well. This build thing relating to version is a little confusing at times.
Actually DISM is capable of maintaining running Windows installs (/online), offline installs from RE/PE/SE (/image:\) and mounted WIMs (/image:e:\mount) .
I think we are saying the same thing. Only that it couldn't point out the latest version build from the recent update as the hardware abstract layer.
Got my download link from MS today. Will be downloading it tonight then I will let you all know what it is like. Not sure if I can share the download, but will see what I can do. Only one install key.
