Unfortunately it doesnt show in my bios,i have a asus av600-x and the slic table doesnt show, have tried a few times now with other slics and looks like i am out of luck.
I used this ASUS SLIC 2.1 on ASUS Commando motherboard (modified BIOS - dynamic method). Vista Ultimate x64 and Windows 7 Ultimate x64 - both systems are activated.
The only option i can use in award tool is ISA method the rest that are not "greyed out" all give some sort of error or warning,i think it could be the way the bios flash works because with a genuine bios flash the boot block is written to but with any modded bios it does not write to or allow me to write to the boot block.
ASUS Commando has AMI BIOS with FC module and with older lock type. Use only Zhaoliang's method to remove this lock is enough. I tried AMI SLIC tool from andyp for dynamic method. I checked updated 1B module from this tool with FreeIDA disassembler: lock was successfully removed and all work perfectly done! It's great tool for AMI BIOSes
Please guys, get back on topic ** NO 2.1 BIN MODDING REQUESTS ** ** KEEP DISCUSSIONS ABOUT 2.1 BIN SHARING-COLLECTING ONLY **
Where are the difference between the Acer ANNI and the Acer MSFT BIN File? I have already moddet my Bios With the ANNI BIN File and my Windows 7 is activated. Is it better to Use the MSFT File? Is it possible to Activate Windows XP with the ACER SLCI 2.1 MSFT file too? Is it better to mod my Bios with the MSFT Bin File?
Difference is in Creator ID, and it doesn't matter at all what these 4 letters are. SLIC and XP activation are NOT connected in any way. It's not better or worse to mod BIOS with any proper SLIC as long as you have a matching certificate.
With the Acer ANNI SLCI 2.1 and this SLP String + a Acer OEM XPCD (in this Forum exist a very good Tut to create) and a OEM:SLP Key (Acer) it is possible to activate Windows XP, i have test it. This is the exception of the Acer 2.1 ANNI Bios FIles. Acer OEM Slp String: Code: AcerSystem
There is no exception, frwil is right. The creatorID doesn't matter at all. You may name it to any 4 capital letters you want...... MSFT (short for Microsoft) or ANNI (btw: what about CRAP) if you correct the tables' sum after.
