I think i had looked into some asus desktops' bios updates (in last year) and saw there "_ASUS_Notebook" SLIC as well. It may look weird, but it doesn't really matter.
Yes, it doesn't matter if used at a Notebook or at a desktop PC. _ASUS_ and Notebook are just the OEMIDs, nothing more.
Use Andys Award tool to decompose the bios. Press *. Then search for the SLIC string to locate the SLIC at dump folder. At some Award bioses there are pubkey and marker modules separately. In that case you have to rebuild the SLIC by yourself. At some bioses it's stored at acpitbl.bin. So search for at pubkey.bin, marker.bin (or similar named) and at acpitbl.bin.
