So, you're saying that just one 2.1 slic bin from asus will cover all the bases in so far as asus computers are concerned? Just curious, why are there more than one 2.1 slic bins from other oems?

With Asus OEMID & OEMTableID are always identical, eg: "_ASUS_" & "Notebook"

Lenovo, DELL and Toshiba for example all have OEMID & OEMTableID that could differ from each other

OEMCreatorID like AWRD, LTP, MSFT etc are not important, this in theory could be any 4 character string

Is there any reason why my new Acer SLIC was not included in the October 2nd update?

The certificate file does not match with the slic, maybe the slic you used needs a new certificate.

Edit: From the first post the Dell[DELL-M09-ASL]2.1.BIN does match with your license file, i guess the one you shared needs a 2.1 cert.

    HP 2.1 slic

Don't Think You have this one:

    OEMID: HPQOEM
    OEMTableID: SLIC-MPC
    OEMCreatorID:SLIC
    OA SLP Version: 2.1
    SLIC type: Standard
    CRC32: 8522765d

I recieved it in a BIOS mod. The Included Cert was pulled from legit Windows Vista Home Premium HP computer.

    Enjoy.

    And One Question:
How can one identify a 2.1 certificate vs. a 2.0 certificate and/or is there a real difference?

Check out the date issued for the certificate on the data output you attached.
2006-07-11T10:42:48Z means its Vista era cert 3 years ago compared to
say the 2.1 certs we have found so far:

    Acer 2.1 Cert: 2009-02-11T22:55:19Z
    Alienware 2.1 Cert: 2009-04-30T06:23:23Z
    Asus 2.1 Cert: 2009-06-01T23:05:44Z

Notice the 2.1 certs are issued this year.

Think Freestyler has a good point on the OEMCreatorID being of any real use.
Only new bins will be added if the OEMID & OEMTableID differ from the bins in
the list already so we dont get a bunch of fake or redundant bins that don't differ in function.

    Just asking but,

Can a 2.1 cert activate Vista with a 2.1 SLIC?

I know the 2.0 cert compatible ones activate with a 2.1 SLIC, just wondering if the certs are backwards compatible too.

Yes, AFAIK at least SP1 has to be installed to make it backwards compatible.
