I have HP SLIC 2.1 and I just installed Windows 7 RTM Ultimate x64 and it accepted the old HP cert but not the Vista SLP key. :(

So it looks like basically all I need now is the new key for HP. :)

So far, I really like what I see, much faster and more intuitive than Vista. Really quick on the Internet too. No sign of any errors or blue screens like I get sometimes in Vista. ;)

Could you please have a check at this one, and delete it if found wrong, please?

(I just checked it with some SLIC-checker and it said "Not Complete". So, I reconfirmed with RW-everything, and the result remained the same.)

    ALIENWARE[ALWAREALIENWRE-MSFT]2.1.BIN = 45EA625E

Sorry I have to disagree. ALL SLICs2.1 are backwards compatible!
    You just need certificates therefore.
-It's not sure if an Vista certificate will activate W7 (at pre-versions they did)
-It's not sure if an W7 certificate will activate Vista.(no result known to me)
But it is sure that THE SLIC2.1 will activate both

    ;)

My question may sound stupid but I've Vista Ultimate 64 with a legit key (no bios mod or crack), if I mod my bios for seven in the futur, will my Vista still work or will I loose the activation (I wanna continue to use my legit key)?

The worst-case scenario would be to re-activate via phone.
You can always say that your laptop / motherboard was in a repair shop and motherboard was replaced (in case they will ask for a reason).

If it's only that, then it's not a prob, I know what to tell them if I had to re-activated it.
And also I've an German OEM key (bought my copy there for the key), and the laws there forbid microsoft to make a max activation limit on OEM products.

It will still work. I assume your legit activation is online against M$ server. The other will be against bios SLIC. Some of my friends will do that, too. They have got a valid copy of Vista, and they don't pay again for W7, coz W7 is now what Vista should have been before and it's payed already...:D:)

Exactly I don't wanna pay 300 euro again. And also I don't wanna totaly move to seven until the SP1 comes out, now that Vista is fully mature and stable, it would stupid to move and facing new bugs like it always is with microsofts new OS.

When approximately to wait for certificates for SLIC 2.1? Keys to ОЕМ versions already left, and certificates are not present...

It's a simple rampage bios with lenovo slic 2.1 inside it. Anyone can add it using well known tools, it's not Asus 2.1 SLIC.

Is it possible to extract a SLIC table (.bin) directly from a rom file?
If so how do I do it?

Yes it's possible. If it is an award bios you have to use cbrom /acpitbl extract syntax or something similar, while if it's an ami one, you have to use mmtool and extract 1B module or FC module.
