Maybe he's listening death metal when he responds...lol At one time though when the boot brick was more often happening it could have been considered safer as people with little comp skills wouldn't be able to get back into windows thinking the loader completely ruined there comp. Now loaders have that problem much less or not very often. He's 15 I think I'm not going to expect to much out of him. But as for :puke2: linux I dunno I think you'd really have to be into having something "different" to change from win 7 :p

    @MD

Now why would he call it activated when it didn't...lol

Heh, the Linux reference was just my way of saying that I'd switch to a different OS before using this code. Linux has it's place, but for me, everyday use is not that place.

How can you say it was not activated when you had no way of seeing it. :D

These are the changes I made to improve the uninstall process.

Grant Execute privileges on *S-1-1-0 to all objects that have had Deny applied, previously none were restored.
Re-enable the WAT scheduled tasks, these were left disabled.
Re-enable the Software Protection Service as Auto Delayed Start. This was left disabled.
Restore user32.dll, previously a patched user32.dll was left which was being detected by MGADIAG as a tampered file.
Restore \SysWOW64\slmgr.vbs, this was renamed to \SysWOW64\slmgr.vbs.removewat when installing but never restored, also detected by MGADIAG.
Use the patched wat.msu (KB971033) in the embedded resource to execute the installer with the uninstall option. Previously the patched version was left which did nothing.

This version now leaves the machine is a good state to use other activation methods.

With version 2.5.2.2 today, validation of MS Security Essentials crashes and installation cannot continue. Was this fixed in v 2.6?

By reps you mean the question was asked b4? I did a search on the thread as well as read the last 5 pages of it - didn't find anything. Can you direct me to the answer?
    Thanks

I fixed nothing more than the uninstall process.

Hazar would be the person who can answer that.

Where can I get the latest version? I have never yet been able to get it from the listed site on posters link. It always says site down or unavailable.

The link may not work if you have a third party downloader software installed.

This should be considered as a last resort. There are problems with RemoveWAT. Until Hazar can fix his master source, try another solution to get your windows up and running (activated). Just wanted to quote Yen from the previous page.
