Then why in the hell did you put this on a Samsung request? Do you realize how much time was wasted because of this? I'm not modifying your bios...get someone else.
Appoligize for this as I was following that thread which has both fujistu and samsung, I haven't made it clear for the brand name as I was just quote the model number only u1010. Understand that extensive effort has been spent on this model already, would be much appreicated if this can be continued and benefit the u1010 users.
First, you post your request on Samsung and you specifically asked if this worked...NOT once did you make a distinction between Samsung or whatever other product that you wanted. Second, you posted your request at 2:00 PM and it is now 10:00 PM...do you see the amount of time for you to respond? There is no damn excuse for this. Sorry, you loose with me...go find someone else to modify your bios.
Actually I had tried it as bios.rom, bios1.rom, and bios.wph. Maybe I will putz around with some other flashing utilities tomorrow. Edit: Not sure if this is helpful or not. Winphlash throws the error 'Part table signature Not found in the interface error code:- 161' when i load these. It says the same with the original bios file also though (but not with the bios.wph in crisdisk). No, I didn't try to flash the crisdisk file, winphlash tries to read the new bios even when using the 'backup only' action. "Platform signature not found in the interface" is what I get when using phlash16 v11, 14, and 15. I noticed there is a 'BiosHeader.ini' in the folder with the rom file with the fujitsu windows flash utility. It contains the following lines: [BIOS_Info] Interface=GABI Board_ID=0x000101EA SectorMask=0x00050FFF BIOS_Version=0x80010C00 Checksum=0 Not sure if it's relevant, just throwing it out there. If I try to flash the modified bios with that utility (flashaid) I get this error: "The specified BIOS data file is corrupt or is a format that cannot be used by this program. Please specify the correct BIOS data file for this model."
