    Yen,

I don't know about the BIOS link so I went to the Acer website. I found that there is an update for my BIOS, so I downloaded and flashed it. I added the zipped BIOS update in my post above. Is that correct?

    Sorry for my n00bishness :D

BTW, if my BIOS were modded, where do I look for the result? Will it be posted in my post or in the Modded Bios List in the sticky?

There is an HP SLIC v2.1 inside the download. Use HP SLIC 2.1 to install on your computer.

Do not use the Winflash utility program to flash your bios. Instead, use the phlash16 bios update tool that is inside the CRISDISK to flash your bios in DOS.

Make a bootable USB Flash Drive or Floppy and reboot the computer. Make your floppy or USB flash Drive to be the First Boot Device.

If you do not know how to make a Bootable USB Flash Drive, there is a Word and Text document in the download which explains a step-by-step method of creating a USB Flash Drive. This method would also work to make a bootable Floppy Drive.

Once you are in DOS, at the command prompt, type: phlash16 /x bios.wph <Enter>

The /x switch is to by-pass memory manager so that the bios can be flashed without any problems.

Hi :)! I thought you are supposed to put the bios name right after the tool name? This way - phlash16 bios.wph /x
Well that's how I flashed my bios. Will your way work also? Thanks.

    Why the big red text?

Posting in a huge red font won't make anyone want to help you any quicker. ;)

Please be patient guys! If you feel that you have been waiting for too long then please feel free to try modding the BIOS yourself.
