Yup, welcome to the world of Sony. I had the smae error...I have read (square eyes) loads of info on the Sony Bios as mine is the Brick reported in this forum. I think Sony bios's require a "platform.bin" as well to phlash in dos....anyhoo...Recommend this option is not for the faint hearted. See if you can get your laptop to run a crisdisk like your bios has died...if you can get your floppy to read..then you may have a chance of recovery...if not..then you have no fall back.

I've also read having two memory module in when flashing is a risk too??? but thought I'd share.

    Cheers

Possibly the SLIC requires a new certificate.

If you do a MD-5 Checksum or SHA-1 and the result is the same hash.
I think 99.9% they use the same BIOS hence safe to flash.;)

You may use the winphlash to flash from 32 bit OS I've provided with the mod. At Phoenix new style I've never tried to remove computrace but I've got an idea to remove it....
