    Cool:cool:

So Compal is here easy, just insert a SLIC into biosfile.....great, no need to decompress it:D!!!

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    to all Phoenix bios modders

Please don't use PBE to rebuild bios at IBM / Lenovo bioses. The chance to brick is very very high...... Phoenix Bios editor is not compatible to most of IBM / Lenovo bioses

I never use PBE to rebuild these bioses, I always try for a manually mod!!!

    Thanks very much!
Did it give you any troubles or was it much like others you have done.
I will try it out as soon as i get all the parts i ordered delivered and the machine assembled.

    Also one question.
You say to use the ws2008 key.
Would this also work with a Vista Ultimate 64 bit key or even a Windows 7 64 bit installation key?

    Thanks again....

I wasn't difficult to modify, it was like the others. I did a manually mod, which is the safest way....
You may install any Vista Version using Asus certificate and corresponding OEM SLP key, also ws2008 using asus certificate and ws2008 OEM SLP key.

About windows7 there is no SLP activation possible so far......

Some questions about mini notebook phoenix bios mod for AHCI enable

    Hello.
I have a mini notebook using Intel Atom CPU, mainboard is Capell Valley and Phoenix bios.(What I know is that this note book is based on N01 mini notebook model of Topstar Digital, one of Chinese notebook manufacturing company)
I want to enable AHCI in BIOS because this notebook has SATA HDD but there is no AHCI enable option or advanced option for AHCI related in the BIOS menu so I was asked to local vendor in Korea and searched various web documents for this.
But there was no method so far and I thought modders in this forum may can help to solve my situation.

    - I need AHCI option menu in BIOS or AHCI enable/disable modification method.
    - I saw that wph or rom file need to request modification but winphlash tool for BIOS backup looks not reliable. I tried backup my BIOS with hwdirect tool by memory dump in Vista for address fff00000 with size 100000.
Is this hwdirect dump BIOS file can use for AHCI option enable modification?

Please help for AHCI enable of my mini notebook and if hwdirect dump can use for this then I will upload hwdirect BIOS dump file.

    Thanks

    @all

There are only one or two modders who are trying to modify phoenix bioses.
It happens that a reply to a request takes a long time.

Reasons why peoples avoid to modify phoenix bioses:

-They are often found at laptop / Notebook, in case of brick you'll have to RMA and get trouble.
-Phoenix bios editor sometimes has problems to rebuild the bios (the modder doesn't know about)
-Difficult to modify. You need a lot of experience. Two completely different module layouts.........
-Almost each bios is different, no way to find a general way, sometimes SLIC in Holes, sometimes OEM is locked.........you need AcpiReport...
-each mod takes a long time to realise, sometimes one hour!!!
-other forums generally don't provide Phoenix bios mods, cause of these reasons.....

We need at least one more modder who wants to modify Phoenix bioses.
Of course I'll share all my experience about.

Who wants to do Phoenix mods??? ;):D:)

I care about Phoenix server bios mods and IBM/Lenovo.............but for me alone it's too much to care about all phoenix bios mod requests....

    Sorry for my impatience Yen,
I was more concerned if it is possible to mod, then how soon, I guess. I thought there was a general rule that they can't be modded after going thru alot of un-answered posts for Intel (Phoenix) Boards.
I have much patience for this fine art
Thank You very much for all this time.
You have helped me very much in the past.

    No problem, colinzim :)

It's due to the lack of phoenix modders. I'm at work, don't have any tools here.

I'll have a look at yours later this day......;)
