Update for Gateway T-1625 laptop w/Phoenix Bios 90.03 on Vista Ultimate 64-bit? Greetings, If someone can help me identify the "original" manufacturer of the motherboard for the system (details below as reported by Gateway's system configuration utility), and/or offer an update to the Phoenix 90.03 bios...i would be very grateful! i'm hoping that any bios modifications won't be necessary...as i'm just trying to correct a problem where the system doesn't sleep properly (it wakes up w/ corrupted sound and white lines across the screen)...BUT ONLY IF more than 2GB ram is installed. Both 2GB chips work fine independently (sleeps and wakes perfectly) but not as a 4GB pair, even though they were purchased as a matched set. Otherwise, it hibernates and works just fine with either 2GB or 4GB installed on Vista Ultimate 64-bit...it's just this niggling sleep issue. And of course i don't know for sure that this is a bios issue...but i've done a pretty exhaustive search for any other answers and just can't seem to come up with any other solution...unless someone here has a suggestion i haven't tried. Please feel free to move this to another forum is it would be more appropriate...and thanks so much for your attention! Hi Yen, I updated my bios with your latest version and it worked! You are truely a master.... Thanks for the effort put into this and i hope this one added to your knowledge on the different kinds of bioses out there. perhaps other supermicro bios's are similar. FYI i changed my account name.
Glad to hear that. Yes, this bios was special. It's the first supermicro bios that reads the marker and modifies the data. Anyway the 'don't care about' method worked. (Rename original SLIC to SLEC and introduce a complete new one.)
have you heard any new news on how windows 7 will work in terms of activation and bios checks? I imagine that best case scenario this process will have to be done again for windows 7 correct?
please can you mod bios for an compaq D510 SFF i want to activate vista ultimate 32 bits thanks ps : i don't know the bios model
Compaq d510 sff please can you mod bios for an compaq D510 SFF i want to activate vista ultimate 32 bits thanks ps : i don't know the bios model
I recently upgraded my aspire 3623 from a M370 to a M740. The bios needs to be upgraded to operate speed-step of the new CPU. Currently it runs at 1.3 instead of the 1.7 it's supposed to. At bootup it says 1.733 gh but in EVEREST it says it's running 1.296gh. CPUz gives the same info. running @ 1.296, identified as 1.733. The bus speed is 99.8 instead of the 133 it should be. I have the proper ram so I need to manually boost the bus speed somehow.I can't find on the ACER site where to get the BIOS upgrade download. I'm using v1.06. Can you mod this BIOS to operate at the higher buss speed? I don't understand all from EVEREST but it's running at "CO". Apparently it's capable of "C0 & C1". My guess is that the C1 mode is the higher speed. If this post belongs somewhere else please tell me. ACER 3623 80 g hdd 2 gb ram intel m 740 cpu Pheonix bios v1.06
Great, but can you tell me the name of the board and the link to the worked bios? So I can add this into my list All Slics... Thanks GraceSlic
