Yes this bios was never meant to have a SLIC table. There are many like this. Recently more and more bioses are prepared to get a SLIC. The 'common' way is an approach to introduce a complete new SLIC. Unlike to AMI and AWARD the way to introduce a SLIC is exactly a way a OEM is doing to introduce a Acpi table. There are of course some other ways, too.

Anyway we have most trouble with Phoenix bioses. The tool PBE is too old, the flashing process sometimes fails. I don't know what's in your case....the OEMIDs often are read from another address, if you search for it, you usually can edit them there....it always worked so far...to make it 100%, to get a proof you have to disassemble the code every time.

The way I suggested is the way I had done, too. Unfortunately it didn't work.
I still cannot get why the manufacturers don't provide a real good and working bios recovery, at least for notebooks...a bad flash is always big trouble.......I'm sorry about......

    Help with Toshiba BIOS

Hi! I'm trying to do another notebook, this is a much newer one, and has the SLIC/RSDT entries in the BIOS (verified with everest). It is a Toshiba notebook with Phoenix BIOS, So I extracted the latest BIOS files, but I don't see a .wph or .rom file, I extracted all files and among them I only see a .ima file. Do I have to convert these files? How can I get it?

I have extracted the img file from the iso with Servant Salamander, a file manager I love. The files were extracted from the img simply dragging it into WinImage.

You couldn't see any file since it is the boot code of a bootable cd in HDD emulation. So, if you open it in a standard tool such as UltraIso, you won't see any file since there isn't ANY file in the root. You have to save the bootable code and, voilĂ , the img appears ;)

    Please help Modding My Bios.

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A205-S4797 with a Phoenix Bios Version 2.50
It originally came with Windows Vista but I down graded to XP Pro. I only have 32MB Shared Video Memory and cannot change it to share more. I have 4GB of memory and would like to be able to share at least 128MB or Max 256MB. I have looked everywhere on the net to find an update that might help me with this problem but I can't seem to find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am new to this so if I have not provided enough information please let me know and I will provide further info. Thanx!
