hxxp://csc2ya.co.uk/gallery/images/images/csc2ya/bootrace.png (can't do it as a clickable link as I don't have enough posts yet, and the uploader just sat there trying to upload it for over an hour without ever finishing....replace the x's with t's to view it.)

Was over 2 minutes til I disabled a few startup programs.

    Spec of my laptop is:

    Intel Core 2 Duo T5200 (1.6Ghz)
    2GB DDR2 Ram
    Intel 945GM integrated graphics
    Intel pro/wireless 3945ABG wireless
    Intel pro/100 VE Ethernet
100GB Internal HDD + 1TB USB external HDD
    Windows 7 Professional x64 + Ubuntu 10.10 x86

The best time I could get - it has slowed down over time - seriously!

Win7 - 64 bit - only 2 tweaks used - netplwiz.exe to skip password and run BootRace in background - seems to shave some time off compared to run in foreground.

This on an Indilinx controller A-Ram SSD this disk has a 7.4 windows rating - the sandforce controllers are supposed to be better - have a >7.7 Windows rating - can't wait to get one.

Most responsible for that result is my 100 GB solid state disc (OCZ vertex II).
