maybe it's because the newly installed files from SP1 are fragmented .. you gotta be careful with Beta SPs ..
Also SP-s usually have a command to clean up unnessesary files but thus making the SP uninstallable. Vista SP had vsp1cln.exe and SP2 had Compcln.exe.I suppose W7 SP1 has something similar and defragment is always a good idea with HDD.It improves access times and both read and write speeds.
My restart time was 82 seconds, pretty sad. I need two SSD's, one for games, one for the OS, and all my images and porn can go on my 1TB external.
My restart time was 80 seconds. I do not know why it is taking this much time. Any one know some tricks to solve this ?
How to solve this? Well, I am at 112 seconds with Windows 7 on my laptop and it does 77 seconds with windows XP. Don't feel so bad, there are several programs you can get to shutdown services that are not needed. I like Yamicsoft Windows 7 manager, CCleaner will clean temp files and allow you to tweak your registry and remove the startup programs. Another cool program (not directly related to this but, still works great) is gamebooster from iobit. I allows me to quickly shutdown several services and specifically AV software so I can run keygens without worry of them getting quarantined. Advanced System Care from iobit is another program that should tweak your system for speed. Everyone I have told to try ASC loves it, it works great. Good luck in your tweaks... FYI my system is slow because it is an old "POS" Transport T2300 laptop with a 1.86-GHz Intel Pentium M, 768 KB ram with 5400 rpm HD.
