Is it right that ACER SLIC2.1 (Creator ID: LOHR) can activate WIN7 using ACER old certificate?

AFAIK no, but you may post it here we can check for it. It must have the same pubkey than the SLIC2.0.

No 'cause I tested it on my Aspire 8920g an it didn't work. So i decided to add HP SLIC 2.1 to bios.

    Used the PubKeyCompare.exe 1.0.0.4 and SlicInfo.exe 1.0.0.5

That means it should activate win7!!!

But i tried it on my desktop acer aspire M5640 AMI, and it fails, maybe the bios mod is not OK.

BTW. after i flash the moded bios it gives me the Creator ID MSFT and not LOHR!!!!, i am sure i mod it with LOHR SLIC2.1, RW-Everything reported SLIC2.1

It looks as if your SLIC table was never updated, it exists but its the default.

Hey, it never occured to you that someone could just put an old public key in the new Acer 2.1 slic? Thus thinking it's good to go...BUT - as far as i know it's digitally signed and this signature contains information on both - public key and marker. If the marker or public key is changed then the signature is no longer going to have the right info and this trick is not gonna work.

I have also tried activating with the Acer SLIC and it is not working. I don't know if it is the SLIC or the cert but it doesn't work. The SLIC on my Dell works fine so I suggest that you mod it with Dell.

I tried too and no joy, I'm using HP slic and works fine.

Not in hurry now, I can wait for a real confirmed Acer 2.1 coming out (leaked).

When i compare the SLIC2.1 (LOHR) and the certificate provided using the AMI SLIC Tool (Andy) it give me matched certificate (see attached picture)

But the PubKeyCompare.exe give mismatched (see attached picture)

Now how two utilitied give different results????

If the doubt about the moded bios here are the RW-Everything report in addition to The SLIC dump by SLIC_Dump_Toolkit.exe

Only one thing confusing Creator ID in the moded bios is MSFT and not LOHR !!!!! how this thing come like this i donn't know.

    Any Idea?

You need to change MSFT to LOHR !

    Or it will NOT works.

That LOHR thing is on RSA1 cypher too (or in cert, need to confirm).

I know because I have to change "acer" to "HPQ " in order to work.

Well, it has got the same pubkey as the SLIC2.0 AND A marker OA2.1 that is the same as the Marker 2.1 of the Acer SLIC that has got a new pubkey too.
    Got it? :D
Somebody has just copied the pubkey from SLIC2.0 into the acer SLIC that needs a different certificate, in order to fool it. But he don't get that the digital signature is different!
    It must be fake!;)

Sorry that's wrong. LOHR is the creator ID of the SLIC header and is NOT digitally signed!
HPQOEMSLIC-MPC needs to be the same at marker, at RSDT / XSDT table AND at SLIC header in order to activate!

    The creator ID doesn't matter.;)
