Well, maybe the recovery only works when a corrupt bios was applied. I think the faster fan speed comes from the new bios from lenovo. At the other forums, users are complaining about the noise as well...middleton did a silent mod. As last resort you can create the crisis stick on another PC. But you are right, don't flash if you are unsure about....

No, there aren't differences between two mods, I have the same 104 error with broadcom but the inter (original) work. Btw: The one that has modified the bios before at insanelymac is a bad bios modder! He has just deleted the module! But the code there is needed to run any network card! You have had luck that your notebook is still running. Such a bad mod could have been bricked your notebook!
Thanks for that its odd that it wouldnt find when I used winhex's search folder... just out of interest should the subsystem id not be in there? I found E4 14 11 43 74 53 3D E4 14 12 43 74 2F 3D E4 14 15 43 74 0B 83 F8 In this im seeing E4 14 11 43, E4 14 12 43 and E4 14 15 43, however there are not enough bits for the subsystem ID in between them. Is it simply the main vendor/device ID that I need to change?
