But how to resolve that problem of 5100 is explained on Intel page where is the FAQ of the problem of that card.. Have you tried it?

 

I have edited the E62XXX.rom file in HDX utility but no popup on Andy's tool showed up. It created E62XXX.rom.bak file but Andy's tool doesn't respond. I have modified the file but the tool can't confirm the changes..

edit: I'm sorry for my BFU appearence, thanks to TTAV134 I have successfully done upgrade from Intel 5100 to Advanced 6200.

Problem that you have explained:
I picked 6200 up because users say that it has stable 270Mbps speed and over on 2.4GHz. That 5100 I have got has mostly a bit over 64Mbps

I think it's because I can see at least 10 other wireless networks in my flat. Unfortunately I live in a block of flats so there are too many signals. I tried to change channels but couldn't get more than 150mbps. I'm going to buy a 5GHz Cisco(linksys) router so I guess it might help.

Any chance you can look at it sometime this year? I'm not trying to be rude, but every time I ask it gets ignored. I've been trying to get help on this forum since Nov. 25, 2009.

why don't you try to do it by yourself with Andy's Tool
Somebody have to spend a long time on this particular bios, it can be you.

Had you read the thread I linked, you'd see I've tried using Andy's Tool to modify the device ids in BIOSCOD3.ROM several times without success. I need help.

 

what method have you try, ID replacement in BIOSCOD3.ROM or disasembly and patching the code (endeer method like)
I may have a look if you want.

Cheers mate, now I can boot with my HP GOBI2000 installed. I had to download HP drivers as the Lenovo counterparts would not recognise the card.

Only small issue is when I turn on my T410 it beeps 5 times, then it beeps another 5 times. It will then start to boot up. Apparently these beeps refer to an error. This doesn't appear to be a problem, it just delays the startup of the laptop slightly. I have mentioned it as feedback.

Also this BIOS is exactly the same as the T410 BIOS, I checked your original BIOS link and it matches my T410 link from the Lenovo page. So you have helped all T410 and T410i owners

 

On my T410 I get the 5 beeps followed by 5 Beeps too, but I asumed it was because there were BIOS setting sthat required updating and my BIOS is locked by a Password I don't have!
