AGN, but to be 100 % sure, you can add ABG also.

LOL, yes I know how to recover it ....

    My old card is:
    Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter:
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4315&SUBSYS_04AD14E4&REV_01
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4315&SUBSYS_04AD14E4
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4315&CC_028000
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4315&CC_0280

    Broadcom NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet:
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1692&SUBSYS_38A217AA&REV_01
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1692&SUBSYS_38A217AA
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1692&CC_020000
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1692&CC_0200

    Hope this helps.
Please let me know the name of the .ROM where you modify values, maybe I could help somehow.

    Thanks

    Hi Yen!

I can't flash the MOD2 file with WinPhlash, with settings you gave me, because I get :

BIOS update failed! Failed to flash BIOS image.
    BIOS image verification failed.
    Error code:-149

I did it with this settings:

    ("Flags" Tab):
    [x] Verify BIOS part number
[ ] Flash only if BIOS version is different
[ ] Flash only if BIOS version is newer
    [x] Verify BIOS checksum
[ ] Verify block after programming
    [x] Clear CMOS Checksum

    ("DMI" tab)
"Update": Select "Update the BIOS and not DMI"

Keep you updated in a very short time!!

PS: In my previous research I found almost identical

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4315&SUBSYS_04AD14E4&REV_01 - which is my old card

in MISER00.ROM. Do you think that would be possible to be the one that I need to replace?

Edit 1: Laptop restarted normal. I'll try to put new card.

Edit 2: New card still not working :confused:o_O

Are you sure my settings don't work to flash?
It shouldn't matter if I change code at bioscod02 or at bioscod07.rom and my first mod flashed fine.
Are you sure my mod has been flashed?
I also discovered your IDs at MISER00.ROM. But at the start of the module you can read:
    Phoenix PowerManagement,Copyright 1985-1998,Phoenix Technologies Ltd.All rights reserved.

So I think it's about power management and no whitelist....

How have you obtained the Ids of your new card?
Can you say for sure the Ids are right? Have you seen the Ids by yourself?

Sorry for that questions, but I'm trying to get the problem. :)
BIOSCOD02 IMHO looks like the whitelist anyway, but only Intel (8086) cards are found.....we need to be sure about your new Ids, please verify...your bios is strange...

You can get the ID as instructed at my first post #1! Please flash the original bios again and try that, thanks. Best is to get the Ids straight from your Lenovo notebook to be modded after.

I can't get ID for my new card as you describe in post #1, because: after I enter in boot mode by pressing F12 (laptop is Ideapad U350), when I try to put the card in slot, my computer goes power off.

I used another laptop that I have (Acer Extensa 5220), and my new card is working flawlessly, ID that I read from it is:

    PCI VEN_8086&DEV_0087&SUBSYS_13018086

Using same laptop Acer, my old card ID looks the same as Lenovo shows it:

    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4315&SUBSYS_04AD14E4&REV_01

Maybe this Bios is very new and the old methods of modding are not suitable ... anyway it is a good opportunity to research and test

Thank you very much for trying, I'm here to apply any new ideas that you have :worthy:

Have you used the original update 1CCN26WW.exe?
I guess that's an issue of the biosupdate. I guess the biosupdate that is available from Lenovo has faster fan speeds. Could it be that the fan noise appeared right after you have applied the biosupdate the first time?

    IMO it's no flash issue.
It's strange that there is no USB device detected though. Is it FAT32 formatted?
You have used the same USB port like before?
Is the USB stick present when entering the bios setup, are there changes at biosetup? Have you access to the USB stick at explorer?
Also you can try to load the setup defaults.

    Yes

    No

    Yes, same stick, no modifications.
    Yes same port.
No changes to bios setup; I have access from Windows; it detects USB stick when insert in laptop as usual.
    Tried, no changes.

The only problem is that when I try to create recovery disk with wincrisis, USB stick is like invisible to program.
Also when I try to apply recovery procedure to boot from USB stick, USB stick's LED is blinking short period of time and stops.

If I don't press "FN"+"R", laptop is booting from USB normally, with that message of crisis disk , bla , bla press any key to continue ....

Of course right now I'm affraid to flash bios to test because I have no recovery ... have to wait for a tested and working bios mod, to be sure That I will not brick my laptop.

    I'm so confused ...
