Are you sure the biosfile you provided is for your PC?
    In the official HP website
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...145198&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=4051#120
I found the latest bios for the Hewlett-Packard HP Probook 4520s, it' the F20 revision, dated 8 Sep 2011, bios package sp54639.
The biosfile you provided is pretty different from this one.

Check the biosfile I suggest and if all is ok flash it (the unmodded version) then post results.

I have been away, but my informations are different.
The BIOS is RSA encypted at the BIOSimage. When flashed it becomes decrypted by the flasher. On the bios chip it is decrypted.
So when decypted with andy's tool it can be modified as usual. To flash it you need a flash tool that flashes a 'normal' bios image.
Some HP models have had unencrypted BIOS updates first. Only the newer then became encrypted.

Please correct me if I am wrong since I have been away.

    Hi Yen,
I read this information in a very prestigious forum on biosmod/whitelist removal.
I don't know if I can put here the direct link of a competitor's forum ....

I'll post to you in PM.

I guess camiloml from the bios-mods forums reports of his own experience.

Anyway it does not convince me.
The admin of the bios-mods forum is a member of MDL also, long time before he has opened his own. He took all our knowledge away to open his own forums, called bios-mods. Furthermore he begged for andy's tool when it still was in development (I had been in the dev team).

I also know that MDL whitelist expert TTAV134 asked the requester for a BIOS dump of the chip in order to get a RSA encrypted BIOS modded.
The tool wasn't able to decrypt them when he removed the whitelists. So he asked for a dump of the chip.
The decyption algo came from MDL member zuvieltext (he PM'ed me about). Andy has implemented it into his tool.

EVERYTHING has been developed at MDL and copied by bios-mods, furthermore I don't like camiloml's attitute to ask for a donation when modifying BIOSES.

I think it is possible to mod such BIOSES, it probably is the way to flash them back that causes trouble.
I have asked for a dump to verify that: http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/31296-RSA-Signed-Image

I do not say camiloml is wrong. But the reason for 'trouble' with RSA is not clear to me.

Also I consider bios-mods to be a copy and paste forum that takes most of its benefit from other forums. It's no real source.

Are you running that 'working one' version atm?

Please backup it using that tool and upload it. I need to check something (if it can be modded) and to compare
    http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/9856-Universal-BIOS-Backup-Toolkit

    Thanks. :)

I aready mod the F20 revision extracted from sp54639.exe file.
In the package there are both untouched/modded bioses and in SLIC.log file you can see the 4 modules filename modified (I replaced the old hardware ID with the new one only).

    Biosfile link:

I tried to flash this bios but I got the error ("can't flash the bios please try again" or some similar). Force update (by Win+B) didn't get any result. Older bios (include modded) can't flash too (error "older version").
I can't find other wi-fi modules in whitelist in SLIC.LOG. Please, help me.

Error on 97% is suddenly appear (while "Updating system BIOS..."), then "Failure writing to flash device Please try updating the bios again". Older original bios don't want to flash even by this patched EROMPAQ.
