I'm not sure why WinRar saying the zip file is damaged? Is there an explanation to this? Also there was a text file that contained 133 hosts. Can someone please post it because I can't open the zip file.
Haven't tested this script but i noticed you are using Swedish Windows. Depending how the script was created, sometimes they wont accept this: Code: At C:\Users\Administratör\Desktop\X.ED.v0.07.77\Win.10.S-M-R-T.Enable.Disable\add.ip.ps1:9 char:56 (Administrator fungerar bättre) This is one of the reasons I scrapped anything but English Windows
Yes the username is: Administratör. I have used this script with that username before and it worked. Now when I try to run it again only a blank CMD pops up. I even tried to run it on another maschine without success. You can't do anything with it. I tried to download it again in case the file was broken but then I get this error from WinRar. I did not show the error for all files because the error message is same for all files in that zip file. Code: C:\Users\Administratör\Desktop\X.ED.v0.07.77.7z: Checksum error in Win.10.S-M-R-T.Enable.Disable\files\win10.x64\efisys.bin. File is damaged C:\Users\Administratör\Desktop\X.ED.v0.07.77.7z: Checksum error in Win.10.S-M-R-T.Enable.Disable\files\win10.x86\efisys.bin. File is damaged C:\Users\Administratör\Desktop\X.ED.v0.07.77.7z: Checksum error in Win.10.S-M-R-T.Enable.Disable\files\win10.x64\efisys_noprompt.bin. File is damaged C:\Users\Administratör\Desktop\X.ED.v0.07.77.7z: Checksum error in Win.10.S-M-R-T.Enable.Disable\files\win10.x86\efisys_noprompt.bin. File is damaged C:\Users\Administratör\Desktop\X.ED.v0.07.77.7z: Checksum error in Win.10.S-M-R-T.Enable.Disable\Win.10.S-M-R-T.Enable.Disable.cmd. File is damaged Can someone please help me with this and get this zip file working?
@WinFree Forget winrar, go with 7-zip FM. Close script; Delete file; Download again; Reboot; Extract everything to c:\XED; run from there. @Dobbelina and all, "System apps & their reg keys can only be removed by the system account “Trustedinstaller”, as it's the owner, Administrators are locked out." Is running as trustedinstaller also suitable for 'S-M-R-T Enable Disable' or unnecessary?
I can now unzipp it but when I run it only a blank CMD windows come up. I'm not sure why it does that?
Are you running as administrator? to ALL, Is running as trustedinstaller also suitable for 'S-M-R-T Enable Disable' or unnecessary?
Is good to use Task Scheduler Block in OP and then disable Task Scheduler completley via msconfig or will it be bad?
There are settings that can be made. I was curious if disabling completly would disable all those setting too? I'm not sure about this. That is why i'm asking.
Of course disabling task scheduler will disable all scheduled task execution, but I don't get the point of your question. Can you give me one single reason as to why you would want to disable task scheduler after having read its service description (or event log, or BITS, or whatever else your problem of the day is)? I hate to be asking questions like "why", because usually when people ask about advanced stuff they have at least basic understanding of the topic and some sort of reason for whatever they want to do, whatever that reason may be. You, however, appear to have put zero effort into questioning what the implications of your actions might be, so please... try to think a little bit about what you're trying to do here, and to what end, for your own sake. Is your OS install not messed up enough already?
I was just curious if diabling task scheduler would disable all scheduled task execution and I got my answer from you. Thank you. I'm not going to disable it because I have set my OS to the way I want it and i'm happy with it. Was just asking because I did not know and now I do
Just for make sure: With Win.10.S-M-R-T.Enable.Disable, there is the option to disable windows/office task scheduler. What that exactly means? Deaktivate complete schedule or just a telemetry task in it? Sorry I'm a bit confused. btw, there are any updates? for example latest win10 build? keep up the good work guys
