Iceland, Looked at from a certain angle does indeed look like a Duck.. and the bird in question most probably Steamer Duck from South America
Just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work. I'm normally a Linux guy but my wife needs Windows for her Real Estate, so I still must suffer it on her computers. Blackbird works a charm on my Win 10 Pro installs, with only one real issue observed. Could no longer print (communication errors apparently) but just removed and reloaded printer, voila. Great tool, thank you.
So I decided to post here because I think it's the best place. Don't know if this has been discussed or not, Win 17763.1 dmwappushsvc and NvTelemetryContainer services are out. Are they replaced by another telemetry?
That's awesome, glad you like it! @hoak Thanks, man! I'm just happy something I made is useful to so many people. My Wireshark game is indeed on point, 24/7 New version is up, btw. Here's another hint: The bird you seek is everywhere.
LOL, not payment enough! Yup, in fact while I can't say Blackbird is 100% leak proof -- I can say on my systems it is, and is the only tool of those described in this thread that is 100% leak free on my systems and that's a tall order to fill. So, Blackbird literally jumps the Shark! Awesome! OFFS, this is driving me batsh*t! PS: LOVE command line switches, LOVE Blackbird's command line switches!
Can't speak to dmwappushsvc but NvTelemetryContainer is part of NVIDA's video driver installation, and if you are using a version of the driver Windows automatically downloads or some older versions of the driver NvTelemetryContainer may not be enabled or installed. If you are using a version of the driver that has this service as an option, it can be enabled or disabled entirely by checking/unchecking the Allow Experience Improvements Program item in the Help menu here:
No, but points for thinking in the right direction! Did not know Ukraine kinda looks like a duckling, flapping it's wings, if you look at it from a certain angle It's not a duck though.
Anyone that installed the latest cumulative update knows what telemetry change was addressed here? "Addresses an issue with evaluating the compatibility status of the Windows ecosystem to help ensure application and device compatibility for all updates to Windows." That's included on the latest update changelog. I just want to know if it can be disabled.
@Blackbird_Dev I appreciate the minimalist approach you've taken with Blackbird. I have a question though. Why not add options to add the blacklisted servers/domains to the hosts file and create firewall rules for them in additional to persistent routes? Isn't security and privacy all about layers of protection?
Does this script need to be updated to completely disable spying and telemetry in LTSC and Server 2019, or is it enough as-is?
What is this thing about Bluetooth services in Black Bird? Can I still use it if I use this app? What is the part of bluetooth it disables?
No, no update needed, telemetry and keylogger are disabled completely with this script in LTSC and Server 2019. Control Windows Update, very Intelligent mode
