    Yen, I cannot flash from DOS... :rolleyes: My laptop doesn't have any floppy drive neither the choice to boot from an USB pen drive. Is it safe to use WinPhlash included in the file of the original BIOS?

    I don't know, it may show a checksum issue, which is normal for that mod method. Another way would be a bootable DOS CD with all the files on it....

    That's typically Sony. The platform.ini contains data to flash the bios. It's usually appended after each biosfile, but Sony is special...you have to go for Sony's own flashtool..I'll have a look if I can find the platform data....

    I did tried Sony's own flashtool, but it doesn't allow me to flash because it says that is the same bios version. :(

    EDIT: Also created PHLASH.ini with:

    Code:
    [UI]
    advanced=1

    But that doesn't seems to work with Sony's flashtool.

    EDIT2: Yen, I've download an old BIOS for my laptop. Should I revert back to the old BIOS and then try to flash the modded BIOS using Sony's WinPhlash? Or should I wait for your command? :)

    I think it's the only way. If you want to try my mod you have to downgrade...

    Well, I've tried to downgrade... WinPhlash told the BIOS had been successfully flashed and forced to shutdown the computer. When I turn it back on, the BIOS is the same and it hasn't downgraded. :(

    What more can I do?

    mafiaking, did you flash it from Windows 7? Could you please share your WinPhlash.exe, or is it the one that came with your original BIOS?

    Yes at least bgcngm needs advise....the mod I've made is as safe as...but the activation chance isn't that high, because he's got no SLIC before....anyway it would be interesting if a PCI-MOD would work..if not I can try again for another PC mod....mod2...
