    I already tried that and also to run in Compatibility Mode for XP SP2...

    I think I will try to use SWinFlash available in a newer Sony Phoenix BIOS Update from another laptop model. At least this version is Vista compatible. :confused:

    :eek::eek:
    I cant believe? Really????
    You've got now the first Sony Vaio mod for a bios that doesn't have had a SLIC before.
    And you can switch it on and off by changing the boot order....
    It there a short message appearing at boot..like China SLIC mod?

    Greeting go to Zhaoliang...he wrote that code more than 2 Years ago....

    Yeap, it's really modded.

    Exactly, I can switch it on and off. :) I can't see any message during the boot... it's too fast or there's no message at all.

    So, congratulations to you and to Zhaoliang!

    Hi Yen! Congrats for the mod you did!!! Awesome!

    What does it mean, you can switch something on and off? The SLIC table inside the Bios? Please explain me...

    BTW: What´s about an EFI "Bios"?Iis that the end of mods we know so far or will be there a way in the future to mod EFI?

    Yen did a PCI-Mod, which means that the PCI module (the one that allows you to boot from network) was replaced by the SLIC table. Now, to have SLIC "on", I have to prioritize boot from my network card. ;)

    bgcngm, yes you are right.
    I've injected a boot from lan (PXE) code that overrides the RSDT OEMIds and introduces a slic....
    To switch it on you have to set boot order boot from lan to first priority...and you may switch it off again...:D
    The code I've got from Zhaoliang always 2 Years ago....it never worked so far..till I've got the clue.....SSv2 of course....my good old HDD still got that peace of code......the requester has to downgrade his current bios before in order to flash the modded. All works with that odd Sony winphlash.exe only....AFTER 2 years it worked at Sony...I still can't believe, but it does...:)

    The chances go up when the tools are available for EFI bioses. No tools, no mods.;) Sad but true!
