Thank you Yen. I will try it next week and report back. I really appreciate the time and effort that you take to help people here.
Antivir reports Trojan TR/Dldr.Delf.BQ.28. Some time ago it reported another Virus. This tool is written by Zhaoliang. I know him via e-mail, I trust him. This is surely a false positive since other Virus scanner don't detect anything.
These files are virus-free. It's a false positive. We've never had any reported errors caused by a virus. If something crashes, it's a typical badflash. No need to be concerned. I've had those files on my own computer to check them, I received the same warning but again: false positive. See, this is the internet. People are doing things for free here for other people. It's your decision wether you trust us or not. Everything you do to your computer is your own decision and thus it is your own fault. Many people don't see this. They don't think, just take. We've have had that already. As I said above, there has never been a virus issue. And as I can see from your link, it's just the software which gives the virus another name. And bios modders are experienced in using computers I suppose so they wouldn't be spreading a virus or trojan over a board or infecting themselves king regards, ancestor(v)
Ancestor, I am very grateful for the work you and others are doing for free, this is not the point. I think the guys coding AV software are as skilled as bios modders, and the fact that more than 50% of existing AVs are reporting a virus which is rather stealth (a password capturer) might be a false positive, but should be communicated to the guys reading the forum. Now if this is a false positive, then the author could be signaling it to the AVs and that would be the end of the problem. Sorry to have been bothering you, again I appreciate truly the work you are all doing, I'm just an amateur which has already been infected by viruses, and probably got a bit paranoid. Thanks anyway ! @ Yen : thank you very very very much for your explanations. I might give it a try, even though I will be scared to death to make an error... S.
The AV software is working with some immune-like virus codes. They just compare...find that structure here and report a false positive. The Delf thing is well known here I suppose, especially to our modders. It shouldn't be a problem. No problems were reported to that day. Please be aware that an error could always happen. Just look around in that board, rarely flashing the bios goes wrong. Most often it's the fault of the user, seldom the fault of the modder. We are all just humans and mistakes happen. But most of the time people come here, ask for a modded bios, download it and never come again Just like everywhere else in life: be careful, inform yourself as much as possible and know you're responsible for your actions.
My (last) two cents: (after that, back to topic) Dear Microsoft company, I've written a tool which allows to insert SLIC AND the string into AMI bios automatically to fool your **** Vista / XP product activation, of course for educational purposes. Unfortunately your Virus detector reports it as Worm:Win32/Nuj.A. Other AV's say it's a Trojan TR/Dldr.Delf.BQ.28 What is it now????? Therefore people at mydigitallife are getting nervous....... This is a false positive, because the only goal of this tool is to fool your OS by mimicking a SLIC bios and the OEM string. Please erase this signature from your detector. TIA lol (Just meant ironic.)
ok ok, you score one.... However not all AVs are Microsoft companies, I'm sure some might want to correct the false positive.
Yes, please. If there is a further need on discussion, please do that in ChitChat. *bangwordsspoken* @Yen
