    Hi Yen,

Sorry that I haven´t had the time to test this. One main reason is that I can´t seem to find a my asus cd anywhere... Could you please once more edit the bios to have the HP SLIC? That cd I have for sure :) Sorry for the hassle.. If you have the time to still edit the HP slic I could test it out on the weekend.

    Thanks commumies

O.K. Before I'll try it again, please confirm:

    SLP1.0: ASUS and NEC
SLP2.0: (Vista): HP (Vista is usually available on DVD that's why I'm asking again);)

I just installed the mod and Vista is still activated. I'll have to format & start over later to see how XP does.

Watch the screen at bootup there should appear the ASUS_FLASH string - Yes, this is what shows now...

    Thank you very much!

Yen, is there anyway you could change the SLIC in the Bios file you modded to HP? I tried making my own Asus OEM CD and I couldn't get passed the key entry. No key would work. So, I downloaded an HP OEM disk It installed, but I have 30 days to activate it.

    Help!!!!!!!!!

You mean SLP1.0 string for XP HP-OEM version?

Yes, no problem! Since there are three different OEM strings (HP PAVILION, Hewlett, Hewlett-Packard) I need to know what version you've exactly got.

I need the oembios.cat file from your xp installation or if not installed the oembios.ca_ from the CD (it's the same on CD, but compressed). I'll analyze it to find the matching string. After that you'll get the new mod!:)
    Please upload it!

    Memory dump

    Yen,

Thanks a lot for your kind reply.
Reading the comments posted in this forum, I vaguely understand the importance of relationship between memory address and SLP.
As for me, I only had an experience to use "debug" command for memory-dump in the past, but I'll try to make screen shots of dump results for the ranges (of Dell's and Sony's), posted in the site. Just give me a little time for it.

    Thanks again.
