To update DMI you have to use Winphlashs' advanced options, or phlash16 with /mode=3 switch.

To enable the advanced options at winphlash open PHLASH.INI with notepad and insert at start:

    [UI]
    Advanced=1

Restart winphlash, goto advanced, DMI, and select UPDATE DMI.

    Result

Re DV2622CA Pavillion Notebook SLP 1.0 Request -
I had no selection to update DMI Area, just to flash which I did.
    NO BOOT
    Replaced Motherboard.
    Maybe I flashed wrong.
Should I try as in #309 above ?
    Thanks for your time.

You can do it easily by yourself. Is your current one 30D6F16.WPH?

Get your ORIGINAL bios.exe and expand it. Open PHLASH.INI with notepad. At section [UI] delete any entry, except Advanced=1! Save the changes.

Now run Winphlash. You will see now all the advanced options. Specify your new biosfile and press advanced settings button. At flags check verify block after programming for safety.
At DMI choose update DMI and the bios (renew DMI).

    Oh!

At category System, you'll see there is a Hewlett-Packard string already!!
Have you tried to activate it without any modifications before? It should activate against Hewlett, Compaq or Hewlett-Packard OEM files already. (HP & COMPAQ OEMBIOS CRC=CD4E1902 and HP OEMBIOS CRC=3BA155E1)

But NOT against HP OEMBIOS CRC=06D652A4 (No upper case characters present at DMI, 'HP PAVILION')

In case of you need to modify it anyway, go to category Motherboard and edit at Manufacturer the string to what you want. Now flash the bios. BUT IMO there is no need to.

This is a general way to edit any Phoenix bios for SLP1.0 DMI strings.

No need to request for a mod!!!:D

No need to mess around with Phoenix Bios Editor.:D

    @ frederick
    Thanks for result.

    @ equinox

Both bioses contain the ASUS_FLASH string for a successful XP activation already. SLP1.0!!!
You just need a ASUS XP OEM license CD.

You need a IBM OEM XP CD for offline activation. If you don't have one, you can make one. There are threads elsewhere on this form that show you how to make it. Once you acquire an IBM OEM XP CD, you just reinstall XP using that OEM CD.
