I can successful activated Vista with the modded bios but vista is deactivating the OEM activation perhaps on 1 of 10 reboots . To get Vista OEM activated successful again I have to reboot and then install the OEM certificate and key.

After some more investigation it looks like the SLIC entry is missing in ACPI table on some of my reboots and this is the reason Vista is deactivating OEM activation.

Yes bios needs to be remodded with new method as ISA method seems not to work properly. Stay tuned (it´s weekend.....:) )

Edit: Please do a request to mod again, with improved super static method. In case your issue gets lost!

    Hi Yen,

What a pleasant surprise to get your reply so quickly.

Actually I prefer to wait for China4Ever to mod this BIOS version 0604 so that others using Asus P5B Plus and Asus P5B Plus Vista edition can benefit.

In the meantime, I will try out your suggestion. But when you wrote "BUT USING asusupdate available on asus website", what exactly do you mean? Do you mean to say that I flash the BIOS via the internet? Asus has this option of flashing BIOSes via the internet.

Yes, over I-Net..you need to download and install asusupdate....but some peoples (like me) prefer a dos flash..that´s right. Just want to tell that there is another possibility:) and it´s only possible with a few bioses, cause the slic at P5B plus bios is located at a special area.

My motherboard is Asus P5B Plus Vista and I have flashed it with the latest BIOS version 0604. Could you tell me the location of the SLIC table in this special area? Where is this special area located?

Are you saying that the SLIC table is present in BIOS version 0604? In that case, can I just import the Asus OEM certificate to activate Windows Vista?
