@toyo "Space Guarantee" is what define the reserve amount the "Used" define what can (need to) be preserved
Thanks. So the 501MB in the picture means what, laymen terms? There was info on the OS that required to be in the Reserve Storage and could not be moved from? What about the 3 reserve IDs?
Code: Reserve ID: 1 Flags: 0x00000001 Space Guarantee: 0x16162f000 (5654 MB) Space Used: 0x0 (0 MB) Reserve ID: 2 Flags: 0x00000000 Space Guarantee: 0x60000000 (1536 MB) Space Used: 0xc984000 (201 MB) Reserve ID: 3 Flags: 0x00000001 Space Guarantee: 0x0 (0 MB) Space Used: 0x0 (0 MB)
I was trying this multiple times and it keeps failing, i. e. upgrading in place 1903 to 1903. Never happened with the previous versions.
The first time I tried it to remove the reserve the installation failed but the reserve was still removed.
It is not always 7 GB. This is on 1903 which was upgraded from 1809 without the registry value in place during the upgrade. Later the registry was set to enable Reserved Storage and after applying KB4498524/KB4497093, the feature was enabled. The relevant registry value is as it was mentioned in other posts: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ReserveManager] "ShippedWithReserves"=dword:00000001
Windows 10, the newer feature updates at least, have a habit of "reinstalling" CUs if you enable/disable features such as HyperV and then check for updates. i assume that could be also used to rush the reserve Storage disable/enable.
