It's stored in C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution. But not under the full name, just the SHA1 (or unique ID i don't remember exactly) without extension. You have to rename them with .cab or .exe (think to uncheck folders option "hide extensions for known file types")

    Guys,

What's the best version of WUMT (Windows Update MiniTool) for Windows XP SP3 ?

I've tried the December 2016 version located here:
    https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-update-minitool.64939/

I have the "run_wsus.cmd" window running in the background, but WUMT only detects device driver updates, it doesn't seem to find any security updates

Nevermind, after rebooting the computer and trying again a few times it finally showed all the available security updates. You just have to be patient! :)

    Hello there,

I'm using a fresh Windows XP SP3 32bit VM with (mostly) all updates I found on the net...
I tried then your patch to get updates working again on XP in late 2020.

    However, it still not works...
How does the troubleshooting works with this patch ?

    Sincerly,
    Lothaire

Do you have this on the Windows Update page ?
I seem to have the exact same error...
Wanted to do a video about it, but I feel like it's not going to be a thing in 2020 :/

Hey there and thanks for your answer...
However there is one problem, the Windows Update Minitool by Nicolas Coolman seems to not work.
    It says "interface not supported"
Do you know by any chance how to get it running ?

Windows Update Minitool is by "stupid user" [sic], the other guy you mentioned might be an imposter.

The default installer of Windows Update Agent does not work with SP2, you must open WindowsUpdateAgent-7.6-x86.exe it with WinRAR and extract the file WUA-Downlevel.exe and run it in SP2 to install the agent.
