I have bootable CD DVD containing old DOS version programs. If the CD/DVDRW is PATA then it recognize all program stored on the CD from which it has booted but if the CD/DVDRW is SATA then system boots but the files stored on the CD is not recognized.
all files /data stored on CD recognized within windows / linux.

    Please give suggestion / aleternatives.
    Thanks

The older dos drivers for IDE PATA will not work for SATA optical drives. Follow #2 tqhoang's post above for starters. It's much easier to use a bootable USB stick these days as most PC's can boot from USB drive.

Try changing the SATA Controller or CD /DVD Drive Settings in BIOS from AHCI to Compatibilty (Or similar) and see if it reads from the BootCD then.
These type settings differ from one BIOS to another so you will need to read up on doing that for your EXACT motherbaord.

Thank you very much for your suggesion. I found it's very easy to get those files on a bootable USB stick and access them.
