Hello people, I recently made my account here and I want to install simplix on my laptop after dualbooting win10 and win7 and finally moved to win7, how to install it as I saw in previous comments that there is a simpler and faster way to install it. Also what about if my win7 ultimate is activated with daz loader, will it affect anything? thank you btw for all your great work and efforts
No. Download the updatepack, rename it to --++, run it as administrator. If you want up-to-date visual c++, .net framework 4.8 and directx, you can download abbodi's .wa addons and put them in the same folder with the updatepack.
Abdullrahman: This is what shhnedo wants you to do when he advises you to put all the files (update pack and add-ons) inside the SAME folder: After you do that, rename the update pack to UpdatePack7R2--++.exe and then run the update pack as Administrator. The update pack will do everything automatically and will update Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit in your PC to June 2024. Note: If an antivirus app is installed, make sure to disable it from running before you start.
You mean Start, Professional, Ultimate, Enterprise and everything? I'm sure it's all the same. All right everyone, thanks for reassuring my faith in Windows 7!
Not really the correct answer i guess. We have some packs archived but most are removed when luzea scrapped his drive, but it is useless too, just use the latest one, it is the only supported one too.
I have currently archived everything I could download through magnet links from 2017 onwards (I found the magnet links through the wayback machine which proved to have quite a lot of versions of the simplix webpage). There are few gaps on the early ones but most of them are there. It might be useful for people who want to stay on a specific update level. (Currently the packs are in cold storage in another country but starting with August they will be back online through magnet links.)
The only one that kinda makes sense keeping is the 2023-06 one, as AFAIK that was the month before MS decided to blacklist a lot of drivers.

UpdatePack7R2-24.7.10 installed successfully 3 out of 4 updates, but was unable to install windows6.1-kb5040497-x64_ce7a06292970d9612c0bfbed9b1cdf79050477c7.msu the system in use is a win7 embedded OS installed with Rufus on an external USB3/sata msdos partitioned disk on a a320/Ryzen-1600AF UEFI class3 hardware with the help of Flashboot Pro enabling CMS on this hardware and booting the system in legacy mode, kb5040497 did installed successfully Edit: I did recreate this issue on a second win7 MBR disk I had with the exact same results. converting that second disk to GPT, Simplix managed to complete the updates successfully. the only remaining issue every time Simplix is run, while it finds no updates to install, it keeps suggesting to reboot the system Edit II: obviously, this is not a Simplix issue but rather a kb5040497 one. the report is just for the case that Simplix may be able (somehow) to overcome this in the future Edit III: FWIW, UpdatePack7R2-24.8.15 updated fine from an UpdatePack7R2-24.7.10 MBR/UEFI CSM on system
