@pf100 I am on redstone 4 , 17133.1 , i have installed the wumt wrapper script , i ran it just now and it found a 85GB feature update ..whats this ? i don't need it. more over it did not find the KB4100375 which is released few days back.
In this case the problem is wumt. You'll have to use the settings update app after using wumt to check hide/unhide updates, like this: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...ows-update-service.72203/page-16#post-1426272
issue resolved after i updated to build 17134.1 . just confirming this same script will work fool proof for this new build as well to download window updates?
As stated previously, the script CANNOT be the culprit if WUMT fails. It only starts WUMT applying the -update and -onclose parameters.
@pf100 when working with UUP dump , do i have to enable window updates by running your script "Windows Update MiniTool" ?
If you are not an insider and as long as 17134.1 is not officially released, i presume you will not get any os update from windows update, only defender updates.
I've never used uup dumps so I can't answer your question. So I'm asking now to @mkuba50, @Enthousiast, or @s1ave77, does a uup dump require the windows update service running? If the answer is yes you can just use the configurator to turn on the update service instead of running the script.
Well... Have you ever seen Windows Update service on Linux or BSD? The first version of UUP dump was hosted on server that runs BSD. UUP dump is a very simple standalone Windows Update client written in PHP that works only with updates containing UUP files. It works on any operating system that has PHP with php_curl extension. I don't think that it's even possible to control services using PHP scripts. So the answer is: No. UUP dump does not need Windows Update service nor Windows itself.
@pf100 i have installed 17134 as a fresh install , the script runs and it starts searching but ends with an error code.. [2:03:45 PM]: Translated by Mr.X [2:03:45 PM]: Windows Update Agent version: 8.0 (10.0.17134.1) [2:03:45 PM]: Searching for updates [2:11:01 PM]: An error has occurred: 0x80072EE2
Try this : run uninstaller.cmd run wumt_64.exe (or wumt_x86.exe) and tell what happens. The 0x80072EE2 error code is a Windows Update error code (and not a script error code)
btw, if you aren't an insider, you will only get defender updates; for cu you have to wait until official release. Edit : i just run wumt_x86 and i got defender update.
