Can you post an rw everything report? Or at least an Everest report of the ACPI tables?
We have to figure what's wrong and if the SLIC is now present or changed in some way...
If I can't see a reason why then, I'll give you instructions to dump the current bios for analysis...

I was busy today...didn't forget you..will have a look at it tomorrow...

    Edit:
    I did a mistake

The dump size should be 100000 only....anyway the universal bios dump tool of david dumped no bios, only FFh bytes here also

Could you re-do the hwdirect dump?

This is a very strange bios..only way is to re.do the BBL mod preserving the checksum of the BBL.....

I have got a better idea!
Asrflash allows to backup the current bios!

Boot with the floppy, make sure write is enabled. Save the bios(mod)
    asrflash /S bios.rom or
    asrflash /S <bios.rom>

    Upload it, please.

The SLIC is still at the bootblock, but the saved bios is altered....honestly I don't have an idea where the SLIC could be found. Fact is that it isn't found at the calculated address. The RSDT points to a wrong address and hence there is a access violation when reading the acpitables with rw everything...

I'm lost..I'm writing a PM to andyp...he may have a look at this thread....

    I have thought about....
If you are lucky you could find the SLIC (BBL) at low address range..

    Try again hwdirect:

Start address: 0, size :fffff, dump it....

Then search for SLIC string press button.......I don't know if the BBL is mapped to there...a little chance anyway....;) IF you can find it completely...we could change the address call..

    "SLIC" string not found.

I searched for "DELL", found at address 31EB0 :

    in ASCII

Swallows the CRS object on some Dell systems..ACPISwallowObjectCRS = {862CE9AC-7BB8-4bc6-A46C-C4ADA0B41F95}....

Do you know what it means ?

Maybe with ASUS slic it would work ? What do you think ? can you mod it with ASUS instead of DELL ?

It doesn't matter what SLIC..for some reason the mod method doesn't work at your bios.....it's a general problem.....I don't know to where the bioschip is addressed...there is usually a simple formula to calculate any offset..this unfortunately doesn't work here....

When you scan your memory you'll find everything what is / was there until reboot or until it is overwritten...ACPISwallowObjectCRS..don't know what it is....

You can try to dump again....the area where the bios is usually stored.....now 4 Mbytes...

    Address: FFC00000
    size: 400000

and search for SLIC by yourself......I hope andy has got an idea....otherwise you would have to go for a loader...it's a old board though..

    Hi,

    I tried like you said.
I have "unable to adjust main module size" message from AMI tool.
Shall I tick "insert SLIC as module" as well ?

I did a BBL mod already, the address I used was 3FD50h, it didn't work.

Cosinus, .....unable to adjust main module size....shoudn't appear if you do exactly what Andy described (no SLP, mod..don't load a SLP file into the tool)....you may try the asus.bin SLIC...don't forget to flash it with /B switch........I don't think it'll work though....but since your bios is strage it could anyway...please report how it went...

You have found SLICT at 02C1E210? It must be SLICv (v= 76h ascii code) to indicate a full SLIC...anyway can you dump it with hwdirect?

    address :02C1E210
    size 176

Not yet, but it'll do it later.....

I guess we cannot make a mod, anyway. I suggest to you to go for Daz loader....
