OK let us look at your problem from the begining. As first what are you trying to achive....e.g. 1. To flash your original bios ? 2. To flash a modden bios ? 3. To use the tools to unlock the already present SLIX ? 4. To mod your bios using the tools provided ? BTW. Which bios file are you trying to flash ?
Flashed official bios through Lenovo software in Windows. Flash failed but updated embedded controller to 1.08 (platform.bin). Unsoldered bios, put in programmer. Used old bios.bak from version 05 (1.44-1.06). 4MB BIOS backup file. Resoldered bios. Computer posts but has data write configuration error, press esc to continue. Rest of computer works normally except for flash. Tried reflashing bios using manufacturer files, backup files, and modded files from this website. All I get is part id not found on table of supported parts. Cannot flash FL1 or FL2. Tried HMM 1.75 to see if I can rewrite serial number first pressing esc on logo and then loading software but EEPROM still locked. My thinking is that if I used program to unwrite protect bios then I could flash the bios normally. However, the ESC trick does not work. Laptop out of warranty. Don't want to pay for a new motherboard. If I have to pay for one I would rather buy another laptop. BIOS Versions tried 7luj02jp, 7luj03uc, 7luj05uc,us through 7luj24uc,us. Don't have 7luj04uc,us or 7luj01uc,us. Also, tried all your modded bios for T61.
I forgot to add that MAC address always changes in the BIOS. Never constant. Also, Windows XP and PC Doctor for DOS detects 82566DC Intel Gigabit Ethernet Controller instead of 82566MM and also ethernet does not work. I don't have options for Intel AMT and cannot access it with pressing CTRL-P. Hardware Maintenance Monitor cannot low-level format hard drive even though test passed. There is no IBM Predesktop Area present. As it stands now it is 7luj05us with variant 1.44-1.08 which should be 1.44-1.06 and bios will not flash. Error -151, -150. Can somebody please fix this problem? I don't want to remain at 1.08 any longer.
Yes, but before you have to update your marker to 2.1 Use new marker (SLP2MARK.BIN) from attachement and re-do: MARKER.EXE /CLRMARK MARKER.EXE /SETMARK=SLP2MARK.BIN Vista remains activated. Later you can activate W7 too (waiting for certificate and serial!)
SO, if I have SLIC 2.0, i can do this with a 2.1 marker.bin and have SLIC 2.1? The ID being the same, of course; i.e. LENOVOTC-79.
here's a problem i've checked this thread and found that the subject's Lenovo 3000 G400, SLIX OEM ID is Lenovo & OEM Table ID is CB-01 they used the SLP2MARK.bin from the LENOVOCB-01 folder and successfully unlocked the SLIX. mine is Lenovo S10-2 ACPI Signature SLIX OEM ID INTEL OEM Table ID Napa there are no Napa or Intel folder with SLP2MARK.bin inside the Lenovo Government Tools provided by skycn123, the chinese bios killer. i am quite unsure if its safe to try each of those SLP2MARK.bins. I need experts advice & guidance... thanks.
CB-01 marker version 2.1 attached successfully. Will install W7 & report back soon. Thank you very much to every one. Yen, Chaddawkins, Petar and skycn123.... your help is greatly appreciated.
Dell Dimension 4600 Hi. I have a Dell Dimension 4600 and was informed that my BIOS has no SLIC so a normal mod is not possible. I was redirected here because someone thought that the method used here may help me get SLIC 2.1. I understand the procedure used but am uncertain about how I am supposed to obtain the SLP2MARK.bin file. I do not want to recklessly use the Lenovo bin unless you think it is okay. Also I saw that the previous posts here had SLIX and that the users were unlocking it. Since I don't have SLIC or SLIX in my BIOS will this work for me? Thanks.
Try using params in all caps. They're case sensitive. marker.exe [ /SETMARK=MarkerFileName][/CLRMARK] [ /CHKMARK=MarkerFileName] params: /SETMARK=FileName Combine Marker file into BIOS /CHKMARK=FileName Check Marker in BIOS /CLRMARK Clear Marker in BIOS After making the bootable Floppy/USB Drive, copy MARKER.EXE and SLP2MARK.bin (from the LENOVOCB-01 folder) to the root directory of the bootable media you've made and type the folowing comands: MARKER.EXE /CLRMARK MARKER.EXE /SETMARK=SLP2MARK.BIN
