    Flashed my BIOS with an ASUS SLIC over a year ago and since then vista has been activated with no problems.

    I don't know if it's the latest updates or what but today I noticed vista is back to the grace period which is ending soon. I have tried to re-apply the slmgr commands but no luck.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Nothing seems to help. Couldn't use a system restore point (didn't have any) but tried to uninstall the latest updates.

    I'm using vista x64 ultimate the tokens.dat & product key (932CC) is correct for the asus slic.

    If others are not experiencing the same, I guess I need to reinstall Windows.

    If you do Google search for iso files below these are untouched MSDN versions

    Code:
    ==================================================
    Filename          : en_windows_vista_with_service_pack_1_x86_dvd_x14-29594.iso
    MD5               : b09267740ddd1a08d80b04ec6bbc232a
    SHA1              : bcd715a02739809e477c726ae4b5caa914156429
    CRC32             : ce4cb528
    ==================================================

    ==================================================
    Filename          : en_windows_vista_with_service_pack_1_x64_dvd_x14-29595.iso

    Hope this helps:)

    I have the exact same problem with the exact same setup, tried Yen's suggestions but #1 didn't work and #2 resulted in vista telling me to reinstall :(, restoring tokens.bar to tokens.dat using a live-cd fixed that. Any help is very much appreciated.

    Yen thanks but those instructions didn't help. You should edit the #2 method because all it does is to make Vista unable to operate.

    I've tried to restore the tokens.dat with voatk-tools and then using slmgr to reinstall the asus certificate but didn't help. Maybe SP1 edited the tokens.dat file ?

    If the slic table, tokens.dat & product key are correct, I don't know where the problem can lay then. The register?

    By the way, even though I uninstalled the latest updates in safe mode, they are not re-downloadable in Windows Update.

    IMO it's no problem. Almost nobody has got this problem. If M$ did something against mods, much more peoples would be affected...

    Make sure you use a original RTM version and no modified Vista......

    Reinstalled Vista + SP1 + all the updates. Windows is now properly activated.

    In my case it was propably some kind of a OGA/WGA crack that caused the activation to start failing. Others with the same problem, did you install anything similar recently?
