How did you flash/mod the bios? Was it with/without a loader installed? Please check. Also how did you reset the bios? Did you do it from the bios itself? or did you flash it again? I have formatted the HDD of the laptop and still have not lost the Compaq/HP SLIC from the BIOS. Also I'll be changing the HDD within a month, waiting for cash.
Thank you for your reply, but I am a true novice especially in BOIS matters. Do you still think that I should blindly try this and if something goes wrong there is a definite way of undoing it.
It works it really works! No need to mod your BIOS for DELL PCs! I can confirm that this really works!!! Dell Optiplex 960, there is NO NEED to mod your BIOS for windows activation. A) Make a bootable usb dos flash drive or floppy, place files from the post quoted above, run: ASSET PASS:12/31 B) confirm to change asset C) restart D) will get an error saying no sata drive found this is a good sign! E) boot from your floppy or flash drive again F) Run asset /d to remove what we entered E) reboot F) press F1/F2 to goto bios G) Set your BIOS settings H) Thats it, now boot into your windows and enter a valid OEM key + register the certificate file and windows is activated! Thank you all for this.

I tested all in a row from a set of tools, although the idea for Insyde BIOS should work HPBC228.exe, HPBC259.exe, HPBC280.EXE. All do not work.... and always displays the message: "This model is not supported''

I have a HP 625 which came with disabled SLP. None of the hpbixxx versions worked. Finally, I used hpset146.exe. I re-programmed (P) the model, serial number and product code and it automatically enabled SLP. I hope that this can help other HP 625 users.
