I have been doing my Arima motherboard mods inside a Windows XP VM and have been able to use Phoenix BIOS Editor Pro v2.2.1.3 successfully for the most part.

I would make my ACPI mods and rebuild the BIOS no problem...about 9/10 times. I would cross-check the new BIOS by opening it with PBE or PhoenixTool and using WinDiff to compare the individual modules.

Now it seems that any time I try to simply open and rebuild a BIOS without any mods (aside from toggling a string), it corrupts a whole bunch of the modules. Has anyone run into something similar?

I recently updated from VMware Workstation 9.0.x to 12.5.x and also applied any last remaining XP SP3 updates via Windows Update. I'm really baffled by how PBE suddenly stopped rebuilding the BIOS correctly.
