My home town, Timmins, Ontario, a couple days ago. (click for bigger version) The frosted trees look awesome, the pictures do not do it justice. In my 24 years of living here I have never seen this happen to this extent. Not sure if it's the mild weather, or what, but it's pretty awesome. Even the high voltage lines and cell tower guy wires are frosted! (not seen in these pics)
This thread seems interesting , I have no good pictures taken by me but I expect that bumping this thread will reactivate it.
Would love to visit the Nazca Desert in Peru to see the Nazca Lines It's a designated World Heritage Site but I'm more fascinated with the supposed alien origins of it. Would love to see it in person.

Kandy, Sacred Temple of the Tooth of Buddha Lion Rock, Sigiriya. Yes, I have been on the top. Dambulla cave temple. Nice atmosphere in there, low light, quiet and calm. What a rock, looks like Uluru, but on a smaller scale. Looks like something you would expect to find where Dwarves live. When I first saw it I thought Erebor, at least that's what I imagined a Dwarven fortress would look like.
Sigiriya is indeed an ancient rock fortress and palace ruin, surrounded by the remains of an extensive network of gardens, reservoirs, and other structures. The entire complex was built by King Kashyapa (AD 477 – 495), and after the king's death, it was used as a Buddhist monastery until 14th century.
if you had skipped mentioning the place, those gigantic rock faces look like aliens craved them just like mars face altogether nice work by the ancients and thanks to you for posting them
Yeah i know that, just making the alien connection to these gigantic sculptures as most people link mars face to work of aliens
